Another sad news for the entertainment industry as senior actor Wisit Yuttiyong, also known as Komkrit Yuttiyong, who had a career spanning more than six decades with many performances, passed away peacefully at the age of 84 after being treated at Rajavithi Hospital for 11 days.

,The "Dara Phaphayon" pageposted a statement saying

"The Thai entertainment industry has lost another experienced senior figure, Wisit Yuttiyong, or as industry insiders know him, Komkrit Yuttiyong, a veteran actor who worked in the industry for over six decades, passed away peacefully at the age of 84."

His wife informed the #DaraPhaphayonNews team that

"Uncle Moo" or "Pee Moo" passed away peacefully at 01:20 a.m. on Thursday, 20 August 2026, at the hospital, after 11 continuous days of treatment at Rajavithi Hospital. He was 84 years old. The funeral rites will be announced later.

Wisit Yuttiyong was a legendary actor who began his acting career in 1962.

Wisit Yuttiyong’s name has been associated with the Thai entertainment industry for a long time. He started in 1962 and steadily built his career through films and television dramas. He was known as a memorable supporting actor, especially for villainous roles and parts that added color to stories.

With his extensive experience, he was a senior actor who witnessed the transitions in the Thai entertainment industry, from the golden age of cinema to the television drama era.

Besides the name Wisit Yuttiyong, he was also credited as Komkrit Yuttiyong in some works. One film listing his name is "Arrom Arthorn Akat (Three)," released in 2002, along with many other television dramas.

Thus, Wisit’s name is not just that of an old actor but of an artist who worked in front of the spotlight for a long time and remains part of the memories of multiple generations in Thai entertainment.

From a time of strength to life’s greatest challenge.

In his later years, Wisit struggled continuously with health problems. In 2019, he suffered heart disease and underwent heart valve replacement surgery at Rajavithi Hospital. After surgery, he had to rest and undergo physical therapy for recovery.

In 2026, his final year, his health deteriorated further with issues including a leaky heart valve, problems with heart balloon and stents, and kidney disease, requiring ongoing treatment with significant medical expenses.

In April, his illness caused concern in the industry again, while the Actors Welfare Foundation helped with medical and transportation costs to the hospital.

The last 11 days before his passing, Wisit was hospitalized for continuous treatment.

His wife said during treatment, doctors performed bone marrow tests to find the cause of his symptoms. His health worsened progressively, and the longer he stayed in the hospital, the more health issues arose.

The day before he passed, his wife went to offer Sangkat donations at Makok Temple on behalf of Komkrit Yuttiyong, hoping the merit would guide her husband’s spirit.

Then, at 01:20 a.m. on Thursday, 20 August 2026, a call from the hospital brought the news his wife feared most: the peaceful passing of her husband.

From that day to today, only memories remain. Over six decades as an actor, Wisit Yuttiyong was not always the leading star, but he was a skilled supporting actor who enriched stories on screen and created lasting memories for audiences across generations.

Today, the life curtain has closed peacefully for senior actor Wisit Yuttiyong, who left a legacy on both film and television screens, a beloved man to his family and wife.

May Uncle Moo’s final journey be to a good realm. May the merit from the Sangkat offerings made by his wife in his name be a guiding light. #GoodMediaGoodSocietyDaraPhaphayon and the fan page extend condolences to the family.”
