At the pier of Wat Noi in Bang Pla Ma district, Suphanburi province, Mrs. Karaket, wife of the renowned comedian Sang Doksada, along with their children and family, brought the ashes of Sang Doksada to conduct the ash-scattering ceremony into the Tha Chin River, following a prior merit-making event marking 100 days at Wat U-Thong in Bang Pla Ma district, Suphanburi province.
Before scattering the ashes, the family shaped them to resemble a human form. Then, Mrs. Karaket and the children scattered flowers and performed religious rites with a monk invited to chant the blessing to dedicate merit to the departed.
Afterward, the Sang Doksada family scattered the ashes into the Tha Chin River, bidding farewell and wishing their father to journey to a good realm. The children silently prayed for his safe passage and asked him not to worry about the family left behind.
Ms. Kasorn Sakon, 36, the eldest daughter of Sang Doksada, revealed that today she and her family came to Wat Noi to scatter their father's ashes and asked him to journey to a good realm. She said if reincarnation exists, she hopes he is reborn in a good place with a good life, and that he rests peacefully without any worries.
She added that she and her siblings will take good care of their mother. Earlier, the family had already performed the 100-day merit-making ceremony for their father at Wat U-Thong.
Kasorn continued that since their father's passing, he rarely appeared in dreams to the family, but he often appeared in dreams to her and her boyfriend. In these dreams, there was nothing frightening; he usually invited them to work together or talked with them as if still alive.
Once, she dreamt of her father live streaming at the table in their garden house in Doem Bang Nang Buat district. He told her to check the fish to see if any had jumped out and escaped. Upon waking, she told her mother about the dream and asked what dish her father might prepare with the fish, and her mother guessed it would be steamed fish.
Most recently, before the ash-scattering ceremony, she dreamed of her father taking her to see the fish and swim in the canal. The water was quite deep, and since she cannot swim, she called out to her father, saying, “You rascal, leaving me behind.”
Kasorn said that during the ash-scattering ceremony, she spoke to her father, asking him to grant her a reward at least once before he journeyed to be reborn, and wished him to travel to a good realm without worrying about the family, as the children would continue to care for their mother.
Finally, on behalf of the Sang Doksada family, she thanked fans and everyone who still loves, supports, and encourages the family, and who continue to love and remember Sang Doksada. She also expressed gratitude for all the support given to the family throughout this period.
