They traveled to co-host the second night of the funeral rites for Rae MacDonald, the late young actor and travel YouTuber. Among them were Eed Samran Chuaijamnek, known as Eed FLY, and Kob Rahat Rajkam, known as Kob Taxi, who shared their deep bonds with Rae. Also present was Rae’s close friend Tar Phaophol Thephasadin Na Ayutthaya, or Tar Barbie, who opened up about Rae, revealing at one point that Eed FLY was the catalyst. Put-Tar-Rae (Leo Put, Tar Barbie, Rae MacDonald) came together to make a show after previously working together on the film “Fake Go Hok Tang Pe.”
Joining as co-hosts for the second night of the funeral rites?
Eed said, “Yes. Because we were close, Rae was like a younger brother to me. We worked together some 20 years ago, but I actually knew Rae from Grammy Entertainment even earlier. He was like a little brother who stayed in my memory. It was heartbreaking that he left us so soon. Everything I knew about him, I felt deeply connected to. We understood each other well—I was the older brother, and Rae the younger. We always talked like siblings. I’m sad. When I left the house today, I knew he had passed, and I thought I could accept it, but seeing his child brought back many memories of the times we worked together.”
Kob said, “I haven’t been very close to many friends or seniors, but once I worked with Rae when he starred as the lead in the music video ‘Angel and Buffalo.’ I felt he was very sweet, friendly with the crew, and gave his all to every task. Later, I heard he worked with Eed, then Put and Tar, so I followed along closely because I’m close to Eed. I kept track of their collaborations, whether with Rae or the team with Put and Tar. I’m closest to Eed and aware of everything that happened.”
Eed said, “For me, as an older brother, but most importantly as a longtime close friend, that’s Tar. Tar is the most intense.”
Tar said, “I didn’t come yesterday because I was busy with work, which is understandable. I came today. The wound is still fresh, a little. The fresh wound needs time. My concern is more for Rae’s wife and child. But I believe everything will pass well.”
How do you encourage Rae’s wife?
Tar said, “We talk all the time because we’re close, so encouragement is normal. Right now, I personally have a lot to handle, but once everything is settled and life returns to normal, that’s what worries me going forward. I hope everything improves quickly.”
How does Rae take care of his own heart?
“Loss is a normal part of being human, though it can be shocking. So shock and confusion need time. For healing, I believe time will handle everything. Lately, I’ve tried to avoid social media, which I don’t use much anyway, but with Rae’s matters all around me, it’s hard to accept. I think about his laughter and how we joked about silly things, laughing about nonsense. Moments like those are irreplaceable, and I miss them deeply.”
Eed said, “Today, I personally came to say farewell to my boss because he let me call him boss.” Tar added, “Not everyone knows that Put, Tar, and Rae came together because of Eed. He was the one who started it all. Eed organized for the three of us to meet and make a show together back then.”
Eed said, “We talked about everything like brothers and younger brothers—work and everything. We talked openly. It was like family.”
So Eed was the central figure bringing you back together?
Tar said, “We reunited again. We had acted in a film together and then drifted apart, but Eed invited us to work together.”
Eed said, “I thought, let’s make a show—‘Bad Boy Doing Good’—so I invited them.”
Tar said, “He was the catalyst.”
What did Eed see in the three friends that made them a good match?
Eed said, “It matched the show’s concept we had at the time. Also, I knew all three well—they were already friends, just hadn’t worked together yet. Most of the main ideas came from these three; I was just behind the scenes. When they finalized filming and content, I was with all three—Put, Tar, and Rae.”
How do you view the friendship among these three?
Eed said, “They are very close friends. These three have never really parted.”
Tar said, “There were times apart, but when they were close, they worked together again and bonded.”
Eed said, “Sometimes apart, but they kept in touch and called each other all the time.”
Tar said, “It’s normal. They’re truly friends. I can’t quite describe it.”
Looking back at working on the music video ‘Angel and Buffalo,’ how did you see Rae’s character fitting the role?
Kob said, “It was quite clear because he had a very distinctive personal style. Everyone knew Rae had style. I believe he was one of the original trendsetters. Everyone accepted his distinctive, natural acting in any role. He was perfect for that role, and the story matched the music video very well—very natural.”
Tar said, “Rae loved hardship all his life; he liked difficult travels and adventures. That’s funny to me because now he’s traveling comfortably. That’s his reward.”
Eed said, “I just saw his face; he was still wearing a travel hat.”
Tar said, “Yes... still wearing the travel hat.”
Eed said, “This journey won’t require fares; he’s traveling spiritually to what he loved. I believe he’s gone where he wanted without worries.”
How are you planning work from now on? Have you talked with Put?
Tar said, “It’s only been two days; I haven’t worked. I’m trying not to... As I said, we haven’t updated each other yet, but I’m thinking we need to. Everything depends on Mam’s decisions because mainly ‘Rerorn’ belongs to Rae. I just helped out. I understand everything and know everyone wants to know what happens next, but we have to wait. It shouldn’t be long before we know what’s next.”
Are there old pending jobs?
Tar said, “Yes, we have pending work to clear up. Over these two days, I’ve slowly started thinking about what needs to be done. Step by step. But above all, I think now is the time to send our friend off. I want to send him off peacefully. That’s the priority. Work isn’t as important now as making our friend happy.”
You probably know Rae best. How will you continue to carry on his legacy?
Tar said, “I don’t know if I know him best, but I will try to understand as much as I can. Let’s put it that way.”
