Wife Opens Up About Final Days of Veteran Actor Moo Komkrit Before Peaceful Passing at Age 84

Closing the chapter on the iconic silver-haired villain, a familiar face in the entertainment industry for many years. “Moo Komkrit Yuttayong” . “Moo Wisit Yuttayong” The veteran actor peacefully passed away at age 84 on the morning of 20 Aug 2026 after being treated for a chronic illness for 11 days at Rajavithi Hospital. His family has since moved his body to Wat Phra Sri Mahathat Worawihan in Bang Khen, Bangkok, for funeral rites.

. Ms. Juthapha Yuttayong the wife of Uncle Moo Komkrit and their granddaughter told reporters, "Tonight is the first night, and I am both a granddaughter and the wife of Grandfather Moo. I have actually been close to him since I was a child. When I went to film sets with him, we always took care of each other."

She continued, "Earlier, he had heart valve surgery and spent several months recovering. Normally, a heart valve lasts about 10 years. In his case, between 8 to 9 years, it needed replacement due to his age. We were concerned about his health, so the family discussed the risks of surgery. It was a 50/50 chance."

"If he had the surgery, he might live according to life expectancy, but if not, it would be as time allowed. After consulting with the doctors, the family decided against surgery and chose to continue living with him as he was. Recently, we even took him on a trip to Pattaya."

"The cause of his death was blood infection, which led to his passing. The surgery involved opening the chest, combined with his advanced age. The family has taken care of him continuously."

His wife added, "He had a very strong spirit. He used to say he wanted to live to 100 and wasn't ready to die. Whenever we were together, we would chat and joke. He was a cheerful person who liked to say he was like Superman—strong. On days he didn’t get scolded by me, he usually had trouble sleeping."

Regarding the funeral rites, she said, "Tonight is the first night of the ceremony, which will continue until Tuesday. Cremation will be held on Wednesday. We welcome anyone who admired his films or wants to attend the prayer service to join us."
