This reveals a side that Ray MacDonald always carried in his heart but few people knew about. Ray MacDonald, the late young actor and travel YouTuber, once opened up about feeling like a bad father during his appearance on the popular show “Kluay Wan Der” on One 31 channel.
At one point, Kluay Kitti Chiawongkul, the host, asked Ray if the team had told him that he constantly felt like a bad father. Ray responded, “I feel like I try my best, but when I see many others doing so well, I wonder if I can do it too. What defines a good father? As I said, I go out to earn money so my child can have a good education.
Maybe what I lacked as a child was basic time given to me. Now, I feel I spend quite a lot of time with my child, but compared to my wife Mam, she’d probably score 15 out of 10. I’m in a support role—not that I don’t care about our child. I do my best as much as I can. Whatever I do, I want to do it well and keep improving.”
Then Kluay asked, Mam Sarinya, Ray’s wife, about what kind of father he is. Mam replied, “When we argue or have disagreements, he tends to think he’s not doing well, like he’s not good at raising our child. Honestly, I might have been tired and yelled at him, which made him feel hurt.
But he truly cares a lot about our child and loves him deeply. When he’s away, he calls every day and constantly sends messages saying he misses him and wants to see him all the time. He’s made a very long-term plan for our child’s future, something some fathers don’t even consider. Ray has planned financially until our child graduates. He’s saved all the money and made all the arrangements.
What he says about being a bad father isn’t true. I want to say he has fulfilled every role well—being a good partner, a good son, and a good father. He’s done the best he can.”
