Amy Morakot Mourns Loss of Beloved Mother After Urgent Trip to England

We offer our deepest condolences to Amy Morakot on the passing of her beloved mother. Previously, Amy had urgently flown to England to visit and be by her mother's side during treatment. However, due to work and responsibilities in Thailand, she had to return but promised to come back to visit again soon.

Recently, Amy posted a photo of her mother with a deeply heartfelt tribute, calling her the strongest woman and saying it was time for her to rest and no longer be weary, wishing her to become an angel in heaven.

"My mother... the strongest woman, the most selfless person who gave endlessly, dedicating herself to family, relatives, friends, and society. Now it is time for her to rest, no longer tired. She has done so much for others. Today, she has become an angel in heaven. My mother-in-law is waiting to welcome her.

I bow deeply to my mother and thank her for raising me well, allowing me to grow up in a warm family, living a happy and comfortable life without ever lacking anything. Both of us will never forget this kindness. We are proud to be your children. From childhood to adulthood, my mother taught me all about life, to have Dharma in my heart, to give without expecting anything in return. Remember, though we were born and raised in England, our parents are Thai, our lineage is Thai, and she instilled in us pride in being Thai.

As a child, my mother insisted I learn the Thai language to read and write, to understand Thai culture and traditions, to perform traditional Thai dance and music, and to spend every summer as a novice monk to learn about Dharma and Buddhism. As a child, I did not understand why I had to study more than others and participate in more activities, missing out on playing outside like other kids.

But now I understand my mother’s good intentions that shaped who I am today. Qualities and manners that money cannot buy—I now understand. I cannot repay this kindness in this lifetime, but I will remember all my mother’s teachings and live the rest of my life to make her proud. Mother, please do not worry about your children, father, or grandchildren. We will take care of each other.

No matter if it is 10 lifetimes, 100, or 1000, I will always wish to be your child again. I love you deeply and will never have a day without thinking of you. Your daughter, Amy."
