- James and Ae first met when Ae starred as the lead actress in the music video "If You Don't Love Me, Hate Me" for a song James sang on his 1999 album "The X-Venture."
- At that time, James was a hot singer under RS label, while Ae had just signed as an actress with RS as well. Shortly after, news about their relationship began to emerge periodically.
- James and Ae reunited professionally as lead actors in the drama "Wild Heart" on Channel 7 in 2002, with James playing Pak / Ratch Rachapoom and Ae as Oh Amawsee.
