After Bow Wanda Sahawong live streamed on TikTok, during which she spoke about a coordinator for a certain toothpaste brand who was working with her daughter Mali, but used words that made Bow feel belittled, causing her to become angry and vent during the live stream. While some fans offered support, many netizens criticized the incident.
Recently, Mae Bow posted an apology clip to fans for causing discomfort over the issue and shared it on her Instagram @vanda29 with the caption, “Sorry for making everyone uncomfortable.”
In the clip, Bow said, “Hello, I’m Bow Wanda. Regarding the case you’ve all seen, or may have glimpsed, about the drama between me and the person who contacted me about a toothpaste brand, actually this is not related to the toothpaste brand at all. It’s a matter between me and the person who reached out for work.”
“I’m not making excuses because I still stand by and believe in the feelings I had. The full details weren’t all shown, and the live stream I did was about an hour long, but someone cut it down to just one minute, which might cause misunderstandings or whatever anyone thinks, I don’t mind.”
“What I want to say today is that I just want to apologize to those who follow me or care about Mali, whether it was my words, actions, or facial expressions that might have made anyone uncomfortable.”
“I also want to apologize for the clip that caused people to see something unpleasant. I’m usually very tolerant—if anyone follows me, you’d know I can take a lot. Honestly, I haven’t been in the entertainment industry for a while now. I’m very happy in this space, waking up to take care of my child.”
“Honestly, I do get offers sometimes, but I choose not to accept because I know my current value and influence might not be enough or good enough. I don’t want to waste the money of those who hire me, and I feel stressed if I do a job and it doesn’t get a good response. So I haven’t taken any work; I just stay in my space, working on my own things and raising my child.”
“Also, I’m someone who can’t easily accept being belittled, insulted, or disrespected. Honestly, I’ve never belittled or disrespected anyone since I was born. I deeply respect others’ feelings. So when something like this happens, it makes me very angry, to the point I can’t control myself. That’s why the clip you all saw happened. Actually, the live was an hour long.”
“I’ve seen the comments asking how I feel. It’s impossible not to feel anything; it’s sad. But I want to say everything happened to me personally, not related to my daughter. So if anyone wants to insult, insult me directly. This clip is to apologize to those who follow me and care about Mali and were made uncomfortable. But I still stand firm and believe in what I felt.”
“I don’t expect anyone to understand me, I just care about those who have given me good feelings. I don’t want those people to feel upset. It’s not about fearing disappointment but about not wanting those who have supported me to be hurt.”
“So… I’m really sorry. Going forward, I will be more careful and better at controlling my emotions. Thank you for all the encouraging messages, thank you for still understanding, believing in me, and for remembering me and Mali today. Thank you very much, and again, I apologize for causing discomfort with this clip.”
Afterward, Mae Bow posted a message that said, “Thank you to all the seniors, agencies, and lovely programs that have given work to Mali during this time. Mae Bow respectfully declines all product endorsement work for Mali until she can decide for herself. And thank you to the kind and generous seniors who have given opportunities to me and Mali.” She captioned it, “And thank you to all programs that have contacted me. Sorry for not accepting work♥️.”
Among the many comments, fans offered support, such as: “I’ve had agency people contact me just like Mae Bow. The feelings are exactly the same—anger, frustration. Even though I’m not famous, I stopped accepting review jobs for my child.” “Protecting your and your child’s rights is right, Mae. If someone disrespects you, you don’t need to respect them back. Stay strong, Mae.” “Don’t stress or overthink, Mae Bow. Everyone has emotions and feelings. We get angry when we hear bad words because we’re human, not rocks. Beautiful, too, haha. Love you as always.”
