After the famous comedian Hum Jokmok arrived to attend the cremation ceremony of the late comedian Oleang Chernyim, held at Wat Pracharangsarn, Bang Krang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Nonthaburi Province, on the afternoon of 29 Aug 2026, he later spoke to the media.
Hum said, “Today I came to send off brother Oleang's spirit. I wish him peace, may he reach a good afterlife, and we'll meet again in the next life, if there is one. Many comedian friends are here—first is the Kao Yod troupe, with Oleang, me, and one other person still here in black.”
During the interview, heavy rain and strong wind occurred. Hum said the wind had cleared everything out and that he had just arrived. Reporters told him to ask the rain to stop so the event could continue. Hum responded, “Why all this rain?” then shouted to chase the rain away, saying, “Go rain on the farmers’ fields instead,” adding that the rain would stop soon and to just wait a moment.
When asked about rumors that Oleang was somewhat reserved around Hum and hesitant to ask for help, Hum said Oleang was not very talkative and quite shy, but he often visited his house to eat papaya salad and grilled fish.
Hum said he did his best. When asked if he had spoken with Oleang's daughter, Kafae, he replied that he had, but she was shy and didn’t talk much with him. Instead, P' Gift Khok Khun helped manage things. Usually, P' Gift takes care of all comedian funerals. Kafae also asked to thank all comedian friends who came, and Hum expressed his gratitude.
After Hum’s interview and his shout to chase away the rain, the heavy downpour gradually eased, allowing the ceremony to proceed.
