After excitement arose about an anonymous donor giving 100 million baht to build a six-story premium outpatient and inpatient service building at Pattaya Pattamakun Hospital in Chonburi Province, speculation linked the donor to Pete Kantaporn Hanpanich a businessman and heir to the Kasemrad Hospital group, husband of actress Gamboom Preeyada Sitthaichai.
Most recently, Pete Kantaporn has clarified that it definitely was not him, posting a video explanation with the caption, “Many comments about the 100 million baht donation to Pattaya Pattamakun Hospital. I want to clarify I have to explain. Normally, if it’s a hospital, my family donates to Maharaj Hospital Chiang Mai, which belongs to the Faculty of Medicine at Chiang Mai University. #GamPete #PeteKantaporn #PattayaPattamakun #Donation #Gamboom”
In this video, Pete explains the issue: “Recently, there was news of a generous donor giving 100 million baht to Pattaya Pattamakun Hospital. That’s great news. Coincidentally, my wife (Gamboom) was live streaming and mentioned transferring money for a hospital donation.
In the comments, everyone misunderstood and thought we were the donors. I’ll show you the comments. Actually, people may be a bit confused. Our family donates to Suandok Hospital in Chiang Mai, the Faculty of Medicine at Chiang Mai University, where my father graduated.
So my father has donated to that hospital for years. This year alone, we have donated 141 million baht, which some of you may have seen. This might have caused people to mistakenly think that the donation was to this hospital. No, our family regularly donates to Suandok Hospital. But this donation is a very good thing. I want to express my respect and gratitude to the real anonymous donor. Thank you for your generosity.”
