The Tangmo case has been discussed again after Professor Panthep Puapongpan has tried to restore dignity and justice for Tangmo Nida by asserting that she did not fall overboard while urinating at the back of the boat as accused, but was physically assaulted and murdered. Her head was pressed into the shallow muddy water until death due to resistance, and the leg wounds were not caused by the boat propeller.
And Khwan Usamanee has become another key piece of the puzzle, preparing to provide testimony after being identified as on “another boat” mentioned in the case file.
Professor Panthep said on the NewsHour program that after contacting Khwan Usamanee, he asked her first if on 24 February 2022, the night of Tangmo's incident, she had gone to take photos at Rama VIII Bridge and boarded the boat. Khwan confirmed she did, which encouraged him. To prove it, she sent him a short video clip via Line showing clearly that she was indeed at Rama VIII Bridge that night.
He then asked if she would testify for him. Khwan agreed, explaining that her father is a police officer. She also sent a photo with her father and told him, “I am a police officer’s daughter, professor. I will fight with all my heart.”
