Summary of the Incident: What Happened and Why the Asanee-Wasan Concert Seating Collapsed Leading to Cancellation

Many people wondered what happened with the FAREWELL CONCERT of Asanee and Wasan, titled “Want to Emphasize One Last Time...” the final concert to bid farewell to fans who have journeyed with them for four decades, "Asanee-Wasan Chotikul." Organized by Neekrung Connect at IMPACT Arena, the concert was halted and postponed from 2 September 2026 to 9 September 2026.

Regarding the incident,

- The FAREWELL CONCERT of Asanee and Wasan, "Want to Emphasize One Last Time...," opened a special show on 2 Sep 2026 at 7:00 PM.

- Before the show started, thousands of attendees waited inside the hall when unexpectedly the VIP seating area, priced highest at 7,000–10,000 baht and located on a temporary elevated structure on the first floor, began to collapse. The sinking started on one side and spread throughout the area. Many executives and politicians were seated there, prompting staff to urgently evacuate the audience for safety and repair, while announcing a delay in the concert start time.

- This incident caused dissatisfaction among concertgoers, who criticized the organizers on online platforms for failing to clearly inform the audience about the situation inside the hall, allowing advertisements to continue amid fans’ confusion.

- After officials secured the area, the concert resumed around 8:12 PM, but chaos reoccurred in the seating area, preventing many attendees from sitting, with the problem expanding to fill the entire space.

- During the resumed performance, artists Pom and To tried to manage the situation by communicating with fans throughout and called on the organizers to officially announce the situation, as people could neither sit nor stand, forcing the concert to stop midway.

- Many fans around the standing tickets area and seated stands missed the opportunity to watch the show, including numerous attendees who traveled from other provinces, leading to widespread dissatisfaction and many leaving the hall. The incident sparked social media criticism.

- Recently, IMPACT Arena clarified the temporary elevated seating area collapsed during the "Asanee–Wasan" concert, stating that the structure was a temporary addition specifically for this event. After the incident, IMPACT staff and organizers inspected and immediately repaired the area to meet safety standards and ensure proper use.

- The incident affected only the temporary elevated seating structure and did not impact the IMPACT Arena floor, which remains intact, undamaged, and capable of supporting up to 2 tons per square meter.

- The company prioritizes the safety of service users, artists, staff, and all attendees and will work with organizers and related parties to thoroughly investigate the event, review procedures, and prevent similar incidents in the future.

- Meanwhile, Neekrung Connect, the concert organizer, announced postponing the first show from 2 September 2026 to a final farewell on 9 September 2026, starting at 6:00 PM. Ticket holders from 2 September can use their original tickets for the final show or contact the Neekrung Facebook page if unable to attend on the new date.
