It must be admitted that the young leading man "Nadech Kugimiya" is incredibly fortunate in both work and love. Since getting married, his career seems to be thriving more each day. Currently, he has four projects about to air consecutively, including movies and dramas: "Two Hearts," "Furious Man's Revenge," "The Last Drop of the Mountain Spirit," and "Henry’s First Dates." He even admitted fearing that viewers might get confused.
Asked about his current work with four projects lined up, how does he feel? Does he know how it all came about?
"I'm not sure either. I've tried asking around. Personally, I feel a bit regretful that everything is happening within just one or two months. I've been working all year, but everything is coming out all at once. I'm worried viewers might get confused. But having work is a good thing. I'm just worried viewers might be confused about which character I am or what’s going on. But overall, it’s okay. It’s good."
Will this continue through the end of the year?
"Well, 'Henry’s First Dates' will end, then two weeks later 'The Last Drop' will start, so those two will overlap during the cinema tour. So yes, there will be dramas too."
A simple question—are you worried people will get tired of seeing your face so much?
"I'm worried about that. But I think the dramas will be on a different platform, Channel 3, right? As for the movies, it depends on what viewers choose—whether they want horror, light comedy, action, or family films. Actually, I’ll be in both types. There's time, since on 17 September, it starts. I might watch 'Henry' first. Since there are many horror films these days, people might be tired of them, so they might watch 'Henry’s First Dates,' then two weeks later watch 'The Last Drop.'"
Have you been teased about suddenly being busy with four projects after getting married, like you’re rushing for money?
"I just feel like I need to build a house. If I have work, I’ll take it. So lately I’ve been accepting a lot, saying I want to build a house. I’ve been saving, but I think the biggest expense, even more than the wedding, will be the house. I want to build it once and use it for 60, 70, 80 years. I want it to be a worthwhile investment. So building a house together is another goal in married life."
Do you have a budget in mind?
"Oh, well, starting out, I think in the tens of millions. These days, I’m not buying a ready-built house, but a plot of land to build on ourselves."
Like Mark, right? Building your own?
"Yes, just like Mark."
Have you studied and consulted with Mark?
"Yes, I have. If I start building, I’ll announce it. If any products want to be involved, I’m happy to review them all."
Are you budgeting generously for possible overruns?
"Actually, building a house always has overruns, but it depends on how much. I have experience building a house for my mother, so I think I can handle this project."
But your mother’s house floods every year. Do you have a plan for that?
"That’s something Yaya and I have been thinking about. Whether Bangkok will flood in the future—not completely underwater, but drainage issues—maybe we’ve overlooked it or haven’t realized it could become a threat. We’ve been considering that. If in the future we end up needing a big pickup truck, maybe it’s better to move to the provinces. So our investment in a house in Bangkok won’t be overly grand or luxurious."
So you have a provincial place in mind?
"Probably staying with my younger sibling in Khao Yai first."
Will you need to prepare more projects after this? It seems like you’re running out of stock?
"Yes, I have one project at the end of the year and one next year. There will be more coming."
Opportunities still choose you, Nadech?
"I consider myself lucky. I recently talked with Mark, and he said we’ve been in this industry a long time and we’re fortunate to still be here. It’s a source of pride. We’re lucky, surrounded by good people and a good community, which brings good things into our lives."
Before marriage, were you worried? Many think an actor’s work changes after marriage.
"I didn’t feel that way. Maybe it was once a belief that actors shouldn’t reveal they have a wife or children because fans might feel jealous or stop liking them. But nowadays, relationships or marriage status don’t determine an actor’s value. The quality of the work shows whether they’re dedicated, hardworking, and good at their craft. That’s what attracts viewers more than personal status."
Do you think your wife’s fortune has boosted your career? When you were dating, you were hot, but after marriage, your work and money really boomed?
"It’s possible. I have a fortunate woman supporting me. She’s beautiful and positive, and we support each other."
