It is a long-standing friendship that has grown over the years among close friends such as “Chakrit Yaemnam” and “Ray McDonald” and “Pele Christopher.” Just yesterday, “Chakrit” opened up about the case where his close friend “Pele” had taken out a life insurance policy naming “Nong Pho” and “Nong Mika” as beneficiaries. He said he had only recently learned about it.
“I already knew about it. It’s a family love because for us, it’s more than family; it’s more than friends. We truly grew up together like family. At first, Pele didn’t tell me, but he revealed it later, maybe a week or two ago.”
“It’s a touching gesture that shows the love we already have for our friend — gratitude and affection. We appreciate the friendship we’ve had since childhood every day. So it’s not surprising that he did that, and I feel grateful as well. It’s a mix of many emotions, but it’s a good story. I think I’ve already thanked him, probably while a bit tipsy — not sure.”
“Krit Ja Yang is a casual-style restaurant in Banthat Thong. Banthat Thong’s vibe is relaxed, and the place has food. Since I enjoy traveling, people might think it’s a Japanese yakiniku grill, and I’d say it’s similar but more international. The grilling isn’t limited to Japan; we include Thai skewers, Chinese, Middle Eastern, and even American flavors. We combine them all and also offer a variety of appetizers to deliver a diverse taste experience.”
“The menu doesn’t point to any single nationality, but the dishes reflect different continents, so it’s called an international grill skill. We haven’t opened yet, but the promotional clip went viral first. I was surprised, and many people started asking, which made me nervous. Initially, we planned it as a casual spot — like when we travel to Japan or elsewhere, we enjoy standing at a high table, ordering 4-5 skewers and a beer, then moving on. It’s a vibe similar to eating tapas in Spain — small plates, relaxed mood. It’s a big place with three units.”
“We plan to start with a soft opening, gradually. It’s a relaxed restaurant where you can come in T-shirts, shorts, and flip-flops because it’s in Banthat Thong. It’s not a place where you need to dress up or follow any formalities. Everyone can come to relax and enjoy.”
“Fortunately, I have partners. I’m not the only shareholder. There’s ‘P’ Nop from Rosdeedid, who pioneered Banthat Thong with places like Rosdeedid and Lobster City. He’s there, along with friends of Pele who are also shareholders. We rely on word of mouth. As I said, the restaurant is very relaxed. We probably won’t open fully this year but will begin soft runs by the end of this month to prepare the kitchen for grilling and other diverse international dishes, which require kitchen stability.
