The case remains a hot topic online involving Samichot or former Chao Khun Atichot, the former abbot of Wat Phutthaisawan, a royal temple in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province, who was arrested alongside Si Ka Ae on charges of embezzling temple funds and committing adultery, as previously reported.
Recently, the program “Chae” on GMM25, hosted by Moddam Kachapa, Not Worarit, and Bookko Thanachapan, discussed the story of Samichot, Moddam Kachapa recalled a time she once met the former abbot of Wat Phutthaisawan: “I had a chance to go once when I was doing a show. Everyone who went was a billionaire business owner. Do you know why I went? I remember telling you before that Yai Chat (Chatchai Piangapichat, a famous makeup artist) went to do makeup for the Earth Goddess statue.
I also went, but it was to create content. The team said, since we were at Wat Phutthaisawan and Chat was doing makeup for the Earth Goddess, we should cover the Earth Goddess story. So I went to pay respects as usual. He told me, ‘In six months, you will get sick.’ I didn’t want to hear it because I was afraid; I’d rather face heartbreak than illness.
I asked what to do, and he advised me to host a meal for about 80 monks. After that, he gave me an amulet cloth, wrote on it, sprayed perfume, and said every time I make merit, I should burn the amulet. I burned one every month for six months. I said, ‘I can’t host monks at home; can I do it at the monks’ hospital?’ Because there are many sick monks there. So I did it every month on the same day, then burned the amulet. When I burned the sixth one, my mouth suddenly became crooked. How many years has my mouth been like this now?”
Not Worarit asked if the amulet Moddam held was still left. She said, “This one belongs to my hairstylist. My hairstylist said, ‘Mine is still left.’ Oh, so my crooked mouth is because you haven’t burned yours yet? That’s it! Instead of burning it for me, my mouth got crooked because you didn’t burn it. There’s one left. That’s why when I say I’ll burn it, I wonder what will happen. If I burn it and then have full bookings, will it work? And if I burn it and have full bookings, I’ll go worship at the round table.” Bookko teased, “Should we bring the round table to simulate it?” Not joked, “He’s not here to worship anymore; it’s now a legal case.”
