It was an event that caused a great deal of fear and anxiety. Kwan Usamanee went jogging with friends one morning at a public park, but during this time, a man suddenly approached closely, pointed his finger, and threatened her saying, “In three months, you’ll find out that you’ll have to change your words.” He then tried to divert the topic, pretending to be a fan, but in reality, he was not.
This incident deeply unsettled Kwan, who suspected someone might have hired the man to harass her. She reported the matter to Lumpini Police Station because she felt scared and very concerned about her safety. She also speculated that the event might be connected to the Tangmo case and announced she will now live-stream whenever she is alone and check her vehicle regularly in case someone has attached a GPS, cut wires, or done anything harmful.
Recently, Kwan gave an interview about the incident, saying she believes it is related to the Tangmo case because she has been live-streaming frequently after noticing abnormal things—work issues and strange phone numbers calling. She chooses not to answer most calls except a few known numbers. Previously, she didn’t receive so many unknown calls. Since following Tangmo’s news and becoming a witness in the case, she knows what other witnesses have experienced, including threats. She tries not to let such issues affect her personally.
However, she feels that what happened now has crossed a line and should not have occurred. She said that if any company offers professional security services, she would like them to contact her because she wants to screen people who might be entrusted with protecting both herself and her family.She also recently learned that the man lives very close to her—just a few alleys away. She wonders if this is a coincidence. She normally would not come to Benjakitti Park to run if she wasn’t assigned or paid to be there.
When asked if the man mentioned the police involved in the case, Kwan said no; he referred to a retired police officer. When she asked him, he aggressively said, “Call him, just call.” He pointed his finger and was very confrontational.
Despite this, she said her life must go on. She cannot live in fear and do nothing because she has responsibilities. She plans to find ways to protect herself and hopes everyone will help protect her as well.
