Namphueng Kanthira represented Thailand in the Miss World 2026 pageant held in Vietnam. Namphueng Kanthira. She was Miss World Thailand 2026 but did not fulfill her dream of reaching the top 40 finalists. However, she believes she won the hearts of the entire Thai nation. Recently, she told the media she felt sad but had no regrets because she gave her best every day.
When asked about the competition, Namphueng said that this was the most activity-packed Miss World she had ever followed. The 29-day camp included daily events. She was very surprised upon arrival because the schedule was different from what was initially announced. Still, she said it was very fun and busy. She believed none of the contestants rested. It felt less like a pageant and more like a trip to Vietnam to engage in sponsor activities and experience diverse cultures. Initially, she was shocked by the cultural diversity but once she adapted, she realized that culture is truly beautiful because it allows daily learning.
Regarding the final round, she said it felt like playing Songkran water festival as everyone got soaking wet. Backstage was very tough because the pageant gowns were large and everything was wet. However, the organizers took good care of the contestants. About two minutes before Asian contestants were to walk, rain started, so they probably didn’t want them to walk in those conditions and delayed the walk. The stage floor was carpeted and the heavy gowns made it challenging to walk, requiring extra effort and neck tension to use all her strength.
When the results were announced that she did not make the cut, she honestly felt sad because she had invested a lot of effort. She said she read all the encouraging messages sent to her, which affirmed that success is not just about the destination but also the journey. This brought happiness to her supporters. She was sad but had no regrets each day. Though shocked, she respected the judges’ decisions, recognizing that each year the criteria may differ. This year, from her observation, the focus seemed to be on contestants with clear projects related to children and education. Thus, those who won deserved their titles. She feels her role is to congratulate and support her fellow contestants and continue her own projects.
