“Khanngoen and Day” Move Forward! Launch “KHSD THAITAY” Project to Clarify the Future of Thai Theniam Band

The Thai hip-hop scene is stirring again as two legendary rappers make their return. Khanngoen Nueanual and Day Jomras Tasnawat have released their first album in 9 years. "Comes and Goes" under the new unit "KHSD THAITAY" while openly addressing the status of the band "Thai Theniam" and their relationship with close friend Way Parinya Intachai. They spoke candidly.

How was the time away?

Khanngoen: It felt strange but exciting to come back. I haven't felt this way in a long time since we didn't have an album. Usually, it's very warm, just singles, so we don't do events like this.

Why use the name KHSD this time?

Khanngoen: Well, we talked and agreed that Thai Theniam is a band we created with many friends. We've done very well, and 25 years have passed. It’s beautiful as it was. Since we made that, we thought if two of us continue, we should start a new band. So today, KHSD THAITAY still carries the old surname. For Thai Theniam, if the band isn’t complete, we won’t use the name.

Day: I want to thank God that we’ve reached this point. We’ve known each other since we were 15. This is basically an announcement that the two of us are the starting point here.

Khanngoen: Actually, KH is my name as a rapper, and SD is Day’s rapper name.

Is this a new legendary chapter?

Day: Yes, this has been our childhood dream. This is one way we’ve made that dream come true.

Khanngoen: Day and I wrote our first song together when we were 15. We met about 10 years before forming Thai Theniam. So KHSD THAITAY is our story together up to today. Thai Theniam’s story—how we met in New York—has been told to fans, but our two-person story hasn’t. We want to say this is another story, and we hope fans will like and support the story we share today.

Many ask about our other friend?

Khanngoen: As I said, if the band isn’t complete, we won’t use the name. But the Thai Theniam name remains. No one knows what the future holds.

How is it today within the group?

Day: Actually, in relationships, we keep the good things and forget the bad, then move on. I believe everyone has their own goals and beliefs. In all the bad and good, there is good. I believe we will see the light soon because we may have been in darkness a long time, but I trust we’ll see brightness soon.

Have you and Way talked about your mindset?

Khanngoen: There is only goodwill. For me, nothing else. When we last talked, we wished each other well and to overcome everything.

Did you discuss doing separate projects for the two of you?

Khanngoen: Actually, we didn’t talk about that because we feel Thai Theniam still exists. Out of respect for the band we created together, we don’t want to say "Thai Theniam is incomplete." We decided to start fresh. If it’s not the three of us, we won’t call it Thai Theniam.

Day: I always pray for him—to find what he’s searching for, to find himself, and to do so truthfully and straightforwardly. Because our friends still have love there.

Are you worried people will see the two-person project as confirmation the band has split?

Khanngoen: Actually, I think everything is part of God's plan. We might think it’s good, but it might not be. I believe God has planned the best because my own plans have never been good. But it is how it has to be.

So you think there might be a chance to work together again in the future?

Khanngoen/Day: Anything possible.

Please tell us about the album "Comes and Goes" after 9 years?

Khanngoen: This is the debut album of the two of us, called KHSD THAITAY. Please support "Comes and Goes." It has many songs—love songs, emotional songs, dance tracks, and various styles. Please enjoy our latest work.

Day: Yes, fans have been asking for a long time. Now it’s time. This is "Comes and Goes." Please support us. Thank you very much.
