Today (17 Sep 2026) at the Bangkok South Criminal Court. "Noom Kanchai" faced off against "Poo Mantana" for the first time after filing a defamation by advertising suit with 17 counts, which is the fourth of six cases Noom has filed against Poo. Today the court scheduled plaintiff witness examination, drawing close attention to how the atmosphere would be during their first meeting.
In the morning, Noom Kanchai arrived accompanied by lawyer Kaew Dr. Monchai Jongkairattanakul for support, while Poo Mantana came with her lawyer before both proceeded into the courtroom.
During the lunch break, Poo Mantana, Madam Sam P, and her legal team gave an interview revealing that witness examination is not yet complete because the court ordered mediation first. Each side presents their proposals: the plaintiff submits their offer, the defendant listens and considers acceptance. If rejected, witness examination continues. Due to lunchtime constraints, the court asked each party to consider their positions independently. If no agreement is reached, further witness testimony will proceed.
When reporters asked how she felt after meeting Noom Kanchai for the first time,
Poo Mantana said, "It’s good to have met him."
Her lawyer said, "The report claiming the lawyer confessed guilt on Poo’s behalf is false. I handle Poo’s cases; she has several prior cases. We prefer that Poo avoid interviews that might be misused to increase case counts or conflict with others. Poo is living separately now; over the past 2-3 years she’s had many cases. We are working to reduce these so she can live normally. We ask journalists to understand and respect Poo’s situation. We work constructively and no new cases have arisen. We strive to resolve the existing cases fully."
Regarding this morning’s report that Poo agreed to mediation and admitted guilt?
Poo Mantana said, "I didn’t say anything. This morning I said nothing. One program lied and distorted the truth; I haven’t spoken at all."
Her lawyer added, "I advised Poo not to speak because she is straightforward and tends to say whatever she thinks without filtering. I told her to wait for the process to unfold fully. We will see how it ends. We don’t want new cases arising."
Poo Mantana said, "I am harmed by this; I haven’t said anything."
The lawyer continued, "Reporters kept asking Poo, but I judged it best she not speak because the facts known to all differ from what media reported. Some cases where Poo is plaintiff remain, and she is also a victim in other cases. We have examined the root causes and are working to resolve issues without disturbing anyone."
Did Poo have any chance to talk with Noom Kanchai inside the courtroom?
Poo Mantana said, "No, we haven’t talked. We only communicated through our lawyers and advisors."

What direction do you hope the case will take?
Poo Mantana said, "The court is trying to encourage mediation for a good resolution for both sides."
Her lawyer said, "I’m not worried. As I said from the start, in all of Noom Kanchai’s cases, we have fought based on legal principles."
Madam Sam P said, "We prepared thoroughly for today’s proceedings with case meetings. We are confident we can refute all plaintiff allegations. We aren’t worried. If it ends well, that’s good. If mediation fails, we will continue through the justice process."
