Nene Royal or Praew Rattikan Amloy A 16-year-old female youth artist from Phuket, one of the contestants on America’s Got Talent aired on NBC in the United States. For the renowned folk music artist, Add Carabao who recently donated 1 million baht to Nene to cover travel expenses for the competition in America but faced criticism online accusing him of riding the wave.
Recently, Add Carabao attended the CONCERT FOR GUITARKING LAM MORRISON 2026 to send support to the legendary rock master Lam Morrison at the Tawandang German Restaurant. He opened up about his feelings toward Nene.
Asked about his feelings toward Nene?
“Actually, earlier I lost my temper because there were some nasty people saying I’m just riding Nene’s wave, that I’m old and shameless. So I slipped up, but it’s okay. Nene is truly a genius child. What I really admire is the faith of her parents, especially her father Narong, who has enabled her to develop her musical talents up to today. I also have to praise Nene for her own efforts in practicing.”
“I talked with Nene’s teacher and others who know her. They said she’s very hardworking. At first, she didn’t even plan to play guitar, but once she started, her father Narong fully supported her. Early on, when she performed on stage and few people watched, her father stood there cheering and dancing. That was during the COVID period, a very heartwarming scene.”
“I want the nation’s youth and all parents to support their children like Narong and the Amloy family. They have helped their daughter become a representative of Thailand, similar to Lisa, though Lisa might have been produced by Korea.”
“But Nene was produced by her father Narong, a true Thai from the South, ‘hroy jang hoo.’ She can take her place at the forefront. I think today Nene has already won; America’s Got Talent is too small for her. She has won the hearts of the world and Thai people. She represents Thailand and will bring fame back to the country, making the world better know Thailand.”
Asked if he wrote a song for her and how long it took?
“I wrote it quickly, but it took a long time because the brothers and sisters involved all had their own work. For example, Pan hurried back from Australia, Tech came from Japan. I had to wait, but in the end, it was completed, and I’m happy to have done it.”
Asked about giving Nene 1 million baht for travel expenses?
“Yes, because traveling to compete is difficult. I’ve traveled to America myself and felt how hard it is — over 20 hours. I want Nene to fly first class and sleep on the plane with her parents. So, this one million baht isn’t enough, but many others are helping, especially the CP Group chairman who supports her education and album production. I’m happy for Nene; the chairman is incredible.”
Asked about drama accusing him of riding Nene’s wave?
“I don’t know them, but whenever I post about Nene on Facebook, there are comments saying I’m old and still riding a kid’s wave.”
Asked if he ever feels discouraged doing good?
“I just let it go. It passes.”
Asked if the criticism was harsh?
“I don’t care anymore. That’s enough on that. Tonight at 11 p.m., watch for the music video release. I will sing live first, and the video has two parts: the first is me singing with Pan, and the second is rock music where many rock artists play guitar and sing together.”
“I made this for Narong and Nene (pointing to his shirt). But I couldn’t send it in time because I thought she would fly from Bangkok, but she flew from Phuket. So, I’ll have her wear it tonight, and I’ll auction it off, hoping it will raise a good amount.”
Finally, asked to send encouragement to Nene?
“Nene is already talented. I want her to have confidence in herself and in all the Thai people sending her support. The spirit of Thai people is the power that will let Nene shred the guitar strings without hesitation or fear. She is already a superhero for Thai people today.”
Asked if he hopes for more youths like Nene?
“I want the lesson from this family to be an example for all families with children. If you want your child to use time productively, music is one way out. If you support them, they can become like Nene.”
“Ultimately, this child may earn more money than the Carabao band because she grows up abroad. I encourage her to fly to America and stay there to work and make music because her English is excellent. As for guitar, no need to send her anywhere; she’s like Arjun or Lee Gim Huang—never missing a target (smiles). Nene never misses a target; her guitar never misses.”
