After a heated drama arose Dave a young influencer, posted a video chatting with Krit Sripoomseth. He asked how many likes the clip needed to get free gelato for one month, to which Krit said one million likes, and netizens actually reached that milestone.
But when told, Krit responded that no one would really give that away because it would cause losses and low profits, so he deleted the clip, saying just a couple of treats would be enough. This sparked controversy until Krit fired back at netizens scrolling through his feed with harsh language, saying, “Why should I follow social media pressure? The more they pressure, the less I give.”
Recently, Krit changed his mind and allowed free gelato, posting a clip with Dave on Instagram @kris_srepoomseth with the caption, “I never knew about Rage Bait marketing before. I have no need to use it. People come to Parameter because it’s delicious and unique. People like to meddle with me. I just mind my own business.”
In the clip, Krit said, “Right now, I’m here with little Dev. I’ll tell the whole story. At first, we were just playing around like I explained. Dev came and asked me questions, and then suddenly he asked, ‘Hey, how many likes to get free gelato for a month?’ I said, ‘One million!’ Then Dev messaged me, ‘Hey, it’s actually happening! It’s reaching a million!’
So I didn’t think much. I figured when it reached that, I would really let him have it. Dev didn’t even ask for it, you know? But when I checked the comments, I was like, ‘Why are they forcing this?’ Then some people started scrolling through my feed with rude remarks. That made me feel like... I won’t give it. So I didn’t! I told Dev, ‘No, I won’t give it.’ That was it.”
Then things escalated with people ganging up, but now I’ve given it! Sometimes I give, sometimes I don’t—it depends on my mood!”
Dave asked, “So, are you giving it or not?” Krit replied, “Yes, yes, I’m giving it now. Hurry and eat it! Because soon I might not give it anymore.” Dave exclaimed, “What!?” and Krit said, “Go ahead, it’s given now. Eat it all! Enjoy a whole month!”
After Krit posted, a netizen commented, “He had to be attacked by the crowd before he came forward to speak,” to which Krit retorted, “You idiot, didn’t you hear me explain?”
Others commented, “He intended to give it all along, but those scrolling through the feed pressured and insulted him, causing trouble even though they’re not the ones giving. What right do they have to insult or pressure him? People can’t even think this through I believe Krit will like my comment 殺” Krit replied, “Exactly.”
Meanwhile, some netizens criticized Krit for creating content that incited the crowd, calling it obvious marketing, while others said the social media users were manipulated from the start, and so on.
