He confirmed that he still sincerely worships Buddha images and respects Buddhism as before. However, regarding some monks who behave inappropriately after ordination, he wants everyone to distinguish between "religion" and "individuals."
He further noted that these incidents may not cause people to lose faith in Buddhism itself but rather in certain individuals unfit for ordination, emphasizing that one person's actions should not be taken as representative of the entire Buddhist faith.
Additionally, Mam offered guidance for those wishing to make merit but who may currently feel uncertain about donating to temples or monks. He suggested many alternative ways to generate merit, such as donating to hospitals, assisting disabled children, or distributing food to schoolchildren, all of which are valid forms of merit-making.
