Previously, there was significant criticism from fans regarding the issue involving the Thai national women's badminton player. “Popor Thapsiri Taerattanachai” posted an Instagram story tagging “Ingfa Waraha.” Some fan groups disapproved and questioned why Popor tagged Ingfa on the day of a fan meeting with Charlotte Austin, her close partner. Popor later clarified this, apologizing for the oversight and lack of careful thought, stating he is currently single contrary to rumors, and honestly admitting he has good feelings for Ingfa and wishes to talk or develop their relationship further.
Recently, when meeting boss Nawat Israkaeonsil, he was asked for his personal opinion on this matter.
“I have no comment on Ingfa (laughs). Honestly, I don't want to comment because whatever I say will have an impact. Let's just say Ingfa and Popor are already adults. Neither is under 30. One is a famous artist with high maturity, and Popor is a disciplined, responsible Thai Olympic athlete with high maturity as well. I respect everyone's opinions.
I also understand Charlotte's fans because I love Charlotte like a daughter or niece. But frankly, we only manage their work and offer advice. If Charlotte or anyone wants to consult me, I'm happy to help, whether it's Ingfa or Charlotte. However, Charlotte hasn't messaged me or made any direct requests. Ultimately, the artists are under MGI Beyond, which is managed by another team handling the series and artist development. I only oversee the high-level structure.
I understand that some fans can be a bit intense. I've been through many storms myself. If possible, stay calm and take it down a notch. But if you can't, then let it all out so you can feel relieved because there's no way to stop it. If you truly love someone, you need to understand them thoroughly. Sometimes love doesn't mean possession or wanting them to be what you want. Love requires understanding and care in all forms. I send encouragement to both Ingfa and Charlotte.”
What qualities in Popor appeal to the boss?
“I'm not focused on Popor specifically or anyone else. I am open to everyone, both Ingfa and Charlotte. I’ve never forbidden Charlotte from dating anyone because they are adults. Charlotte has been with us almost five years now, and in a few months, it's time for her to grow up. So all decisions are up to Ingfa and Charlotte and how they decide together. It’s a personal matter, but we manage their professional image, trying to handle things appropriately.
Currently, we avoid media interviews. I've told event organizers that we prefer not to do interviews because whichever side speaks, they face an army of AI backlash. It's better to let the storm pass.”
So does the boss think it’s not yet appropriate for them to talk about this?
“Right now, it’s not suitable. But I think everything will settle and become normalized. It's better than arguing emotionally. Actually, the artists themselves don’t throw blame; it’s mostly the fans.”
What is your view on artists having romantic relationships?
“If they are still young, I advise not to have love yet. It’s normal because they are still growing. So don’t rush. But if it’s beyond their maturity, like Charlotte at 28 and Ingfa entering 31-32, it’s hard to hold anyone back. I understand that. But if they are between 20-23 and under my management, I advise not to have a relationship yet.”
What message do you want to send to fans who cannot accept this?
“Sigh, there isn’t much to say. I encourage those who feel that way because it’s very difficult to speak. I want to say that real life and performances sometimes involve different sides of a person. I have no right to say more. I pray that fans will see and understand more. Keep what makes you happy and discard what causes pain. If my artists cause anyone or fans to suffer, just walk away from them. Our company accepts this loss rather than endure constant suffering and insults. Nobody’s life is truly happy—neither you nor the artists nor the company. We are willing to accept fans choosing not to support. Sometimes people irritate each other when together; parting is better. This is a peaceful way we can choose.”
