The entire country rejoiced as 16-year-old Nene Royal, also known as Praew Rattikan Amlai, won the title of "America’s Got Talent 2026" on NBC in the United States. This 21st season marked the first time a Thai contestant claimed the championship on this show.
The prize Nene Royal won from "America’s Got Talent" is 1 million US dollars, roughly 33 million baht. The winner has the option to receive the prize money in two different ways.
1. Receive the prize as annual installments.
The winner can receive the full 1 million US dollars by having it paid out evenly each year at 25,000 US dollars, or about 830,000 baht, over 40 years. This amount does not include withholding tax for foreigners and other taxes.
2. Receive a lump-sum payment.
If the winner does not want annual payments, they can opt to receive a lump sum immediately. The show calculates this based on the present cash value, which is discounted to approximately 300,000 to 430,000 US dollars, or about 9.9 to 14.2 million baht, before withholding tax for foreigners and other taxes.
