One notable highlight on the day Nene Royal or Praew Rattikan Amlai the 16-year-old rockstar from Phuket province who won "America’s Got Talent" on NBC in the U.S., was the exquisitely designed outfit she wore during the competition.
Meanwhile, Tee Thanet Laknawilas a well-known Thai pageant expert, posted photos of the outfit Nene wore on stage when she won the championship, explaining that it was created by the brand Surface and designed by Jo Atit Thirakittiwat also known as Jo Surface.
“Nene’s winning outfit on the 'America’s Got Talent' stage today was designed by Jo Atit Thirakittiwat, whom we know as 'Jo Surface,' a designer and owner of the Surface brand.
He is a beloved elder brother to us pageant fans and has crafted preliminary costumes for Miss Universe contestants like Thanal, Mariya, as well as creating outfits for many famous artists performing on stage.
Jo explained that the fabric used for this outfit is handwoven gold silk from the Chansoma weaving group in Ban Thasawang, Surin province, by Master Weeratham Trakunngernthai, a 2025 National Artist in Visual Arts. The design considered the wearer’s comfort, aiming for a cool, agile look suitable for a stage performance requiring constant movement.
While creating the outfit, Jo said he was inspired by the song 'Wani Phok' from the third studio album by the Carabao band, which influenced this design. The costume’s collar was adorned to evoke the feel of carrying a sacred charm, adding a mysterious aura.
Jo congratulated Nene warmly on her achievement that has brought great honor to Thailand and expressed happiness to have been a small part of her journey. Adhit Dhirakittiwat.”
