Almost the entire country is suffering due to continuous heavy rains in many provinces, including Bangkok and its metropolitan area, where flooding has started at multiple points, causing widespread distress among residents. Recently, Thairath Entertainment inquired about the situation. Tuck Siriporn The cheerful singer and actress was asked about the condition at her home after seeing her husband, Noi Chernyim, post that the water has started to rise.
Did you see Noi's post saying the water is starting to come?
"The water has started to come, but it hasn't entered the house yet. Back in 2011, oh my, I spent hundreds of thousands! I built new walls and fences because I was afraid the water would get inside. But in the end, the water never entered (laughs). I wasted all that money. So that became a lesson from 2011. This year, I don’t want to panic too much but I have to stay calm."
Now that Bangkok is flooded, do you have any plans today?
"Oh, actually, I’m staying home today, but tomorrow, yes, I have work. And look, it’s still raining nonstop."
Have you seen news footage showing some areas flooded so badly that cars are floating, like at Bangkapi Market?
"Yes, I’m watching the news. We have to keep checking the news now because we need to stay alert."
Are people starting to stock up on supplies?
"(Laughs) I’ve already gone out shopping but not stocking up excessively. Like I said, we have experience from 2011. That flood was severe; back then, I panicked and lost my composure. I hoarded supplies, rebuilt walls, and went a bit crazy, spending hundreds of thousands. But the water didn’t enter the house at all. So this time, having learned from 2011, I’m taking it slowly and staying calm, not panicking."
What message would you like to send to your fans?
"I have to say, the rain has been falling for two consecutive days, and tomorrow they say it will continue—that’s three days in a row. People are really suffering. I feel sorry for the vendors, delivery riders, and Grab drivers because they can’t earn a living. And those who have to go to work but don’t have vehicles have to wade through water. I feel deeply sympathetic."
"As for the government, I honestly don’t know what to say (laughs). You can’t just tell people to stay alert. That’s not enough. You have to come down and help. It’s not just about warnings; you have to assist the people. That’s how it should be."
"Seriously, I want to send a message to Anutin (Deputy Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul) and the government. People are suffering everywhere. Is this a once-in-a-thousand-years rain or something? Maybe a great flood? I think calling it that wouldn’t be an exaggeration."
"It’s really severe in many places like Sa Kaeo. Many people are helping in several provinces and areas. Don’t forget, the rain doesn’t stop; it falls all day and night for two or three days straight. That’s terrible. People are in trouble, suffering, and it can’t continue like this."
"So I ask Anutin again: enough is enough. You need to stop everything and focus on this problem first—the flooding. Come down to help the people who are suffering. And it’s not just people; I’m worried about pigs, dogs, crows, chickens, and other animals. I’m honestly concerned about how they will survive and eat, especially poisonous animals fleeing the water."
"Let’s just hope the situation doesn’t worsen, and I urge government agencies responsible for different areas to step in and help."
"Oh, I’m praying (laughs). Wherever I can help, I will. I’m following the news, and if there’s a family or community I can support, I will. This morning, I also helped at the foundation of Nong Kae (Chollada Mekratri) because the dog shelter was flooded. So I donated to The Voice Foundation run by Kae Chollada. The water entered the dog shelter, but I’ll look for other places to help if I can. Again, I appeal to Anutin."
But Anutin is currently in America?
"He should fly back immediately. If he can pilot a plane, he should fly back right away. Come back quickly—the people are suffering. Leave the world peace issues for later and focus on our country first. Anutin, come on, hurry! The Thai people are in distress. Please."
