Time truly flies by in the blink of an eye. Alin and Alan the twin son and daughter of Opal Panisara and Dr. Oak Smith Arayasakul have turned 11 years old.
The brave mother Opal posted a video recalling memories from 11 years ago, reflecting on the difficult time when she had to stay on Absolute Bed Rest at the hospital for nearly two months before her twins were born prematurely at just 29 weeks gestation.
“28 September 2026
Today, 11 years ago, after I had been on Absolute Bed Rest at the hospital for nearly two months, my twins were born at only 29 weeks gestation. I honestly can’t recall how our family of four managed to get through that time.
At the moment they were born, Alin cried very softly, and Alan did not cry at all. We hadn't even held them yet when the medical team at Ramathibodi Hospital rushed the babies to the NICU. My children stayed there for nearly two months before they were strong enough for their father and me to hold them and finally bring them home.
Over the past 11 years, the four of us—parents and children—have gone through many experiences, faced life-and-death situations, and made difficult decisions multiple times. From now on, in real life, nothing will be easy, my children. You will encounter both kind and cruel people, and face situations that will make you reflect on yourselves many times.
But your father and I want you to be confident that when you were tiny babies, each weighing less than one kilogram, you still fought and made it through. I wish for you to grow up strong, resilient in both body and mind, and live happily every day. Your father and I will always stand by your side, and we will always be a team, forever.
