After the renowned film director Piak Poster or Sombunsuk Niyomsiri a National Artist in Performing Arts, passed away peacefully at the age of 93, the family has held the funeral at Sala 3, Wat Sunthorn Thammathan (Wat Khaenang Leng) since 29 September 2026.
On the evening of 30 September 2026, the second night of Piak Poster's funeral chant ceremony took place in a sorrowful atmosphere, with many family members, close associates, and elders attending.
Several people from the entertainment industry came to pay their respects, including Krung Srivilai, Ped Chernyim, Noi Natanee, Piak Sommat, Koi Parichat, Ron Banjongsang, Chompoo Fruity, Mam Patcharida, Senaphet, Peach Pachara, and others.
On 1 October 2026, the funeral chant ceremony for Piak Poster will be held at 7:00 p.m. After the ceremony, the body will be kept for 100 days in preparation for the royal cremation ceremony.
