Truly a selfless sacrifice for the greater good from “P’ Ae Supachai Sriwijit” who recently allowed floodwaters to inundate nearly 100 rai of his private farmland in the Watcharaphon area, turning it into a natural water retention basin to absorb runoff from nearby roads and communities, helping residents of Sukhaphiban 5 ease their hardships.
In a video, P’ Ae said, “Everyone, this is my farmland—almost 100 rai. We are now letting the water flow in to drain and channel water from the road into my farm. The flooding has taken over completely. We’re allowing the water to flow in from the road in front, which is Sukhaphiban 5 Road.”
“At least this helps flood victims by providing a drainage area. Otherwise, this place would be full of buildings because the surrounding area has all been developed into new housing estates. Now there’s no farmland left; my entire 100-rai farm is gone because it’s surrounded by these housing developments. Water is draining from the main road into here, otherwise there would be nowhere to drain since the canal alone can’t handle it.”
He also captioned his post: “I have farmland in Watcharaphon. Now it has turned from farmland into a pond. I willingly sacrifice this land to hold water. My rice is about to be harvested, but I am willing to sacrifice it, as long as the nearby houses don’t flood.”
Many followers commented to thank P’ Ae for his selfless sacrifice for the community, providing relief to the people—truly a great act of merit.
