After the renowned film director Piak Poster or Sombunsuk Niyomsiri a National Artist in Performing Arts, passed away peacefully at the age of 93, the family held the funeral at Sala 3 of Sunthorn Thammathan Temple (Kanang Loeng Temple) since 29 Sep 2026 GMT+7.
On the evening of 1 Oct 2026 GMT+7, the third and final night of Piak Poster’s funeral chanting ceremony took place in a sorrowful atmosphere, with many family members, close associates, and elders attending.
Several figures from the entertainment industry came to pay their respects, including Kobsuk Jarujinda, Koi Tarika Thidathit, Nui Amphon Lamphun, Yuwadee Thaihirun, and Winai Panurak, and others.
After the chanting ceremony concluded, the family placed Piak Poster’s body in storage for 100 days to await the process for royal cremation approval.
