Mark Prin Recounts Flooding at Mothers House: Panics as Water Doesnt Recede for 5 Days, Plans to Buy Boat to Help Others and Himself

Another family facing a flood disaster and becoming victims is Mark Prin and Kimberly. Along with their mother, recently they encountered Mark Prin himself who recounted the event of helping his mother through the flood. He admitted feeling panicked because after five days the water still hadn't receded. He plans to buy a boat to assist flood victims, explaining that

On that morning of the flood, we were very shocked. Around 6 a.m., Kimberly woke up to a phone call and heard that the water had flooded into the house. It was very alarming. At that time, it was 6 a.m., so we woke up and rushed to see my mother. Although our house and hers are just across the street, her side was already flooded while ours was not. We hurried to help her out, wading through water up to our knees, carrying bags and belongings as seen in the pictures. Inside the house, the water was above knee level, covering the first floor. Kimberly carried the dog, I carried bags, and my mother walked out. We moved her to my brother's house nearby.

We never expected it because that area had never flooded before. We were all shocked—my mother, everyone. It was just the way it was. But the warnings we received proved true; we had to listen to them. It was very frightening. Even now, we can't return home because the water hasn't gone down.

The estimated damage to furniture in the house is uncertain; I don't know how much or what exactly, but I feel deeply for everyone affected by these floods during this difficult economic time. I truly understand what flood victims are going through. Our house was flooded too, and we can only encourage ourselves to stay strong. It's now about the fifth day since day one, and the water is still inside the house. My mother is scared but there's nothing we can do. I tried to comfort her, but I panicked when the flood first arrived. I walked outside the house about ten times to check if the water was rising or falling, hoping for improvement or better warning systems. I wish the flood alerts could be more accurate and timely.

We are very fortunate that Thai people are kind-hearted and always help each other. We saw the community helping themselves first—anyone with a high vehicle, boat, or whatever, lending a hand. It's a blessing that Thai people still have goodwill and kindness. I just hope there will be agencies or individuals to improve the situation. I've thought about buying a boat because I saw pages selling flood barriers and considered ordering one but hesitated. I've looked at boats and now I'm thinking about boats and jet skis. If we have something like that, we can help others. At least a pickup truck is an option, which is okay. But having a boat is a real plan. We can't only think about ourselves. If I have a boat and others are struggling, I can help. That might be another important option in life now.
