The luk thung music scene lost another musician with the passing of “Uan Prajanban,” a singer and musician from Ubon Ratchathani, lead vocalist of the band “Prajanban” and the original voice of “Missing Home,” a song cherished by listeners for over 30 years.
Uan Prajanban passed away in his 60s after a long battle with cancer, dying peacefully on 1 Oct 2026 GMT+7, surrounded by the grief of family, friends, and the music community.
One of the key works that made Uan Prajanban’s name memorable was “Missing Home.” Dara Phaphayon confirmed that he was the first to perform this song.
The song “Missing Home,” with lyrics and melody by Somwang Anusaksatien, former member of the band “Nueng Mo Jo Wang,” was produced by Thanis Sriklindee and Thierry Mekvattana, credits displayed on the Prajanban album cover.
The album “Missing Home” was released in 1988 by Amigo Records and supported by Seksan Pupradit, known as the “Tough Announcer” of the famous music show “World of Music.”
