It became quite a sensational topic when YouTuber and actress Base Rakwannee Kamsing the daughter of Bas Samransak Kamsing, a former famous boxer and Olympic gold medalist, landed a role in a Chinese series with Jin Jia Yu, also known as Jin Jia Yu, a young Chinese leading man famous for his work in mini-series and vertical short films, with filming scheduled to start soon.
Recently, Base Kamsing did a live stream with her father Bas and at one point answered fans' questions about how she got the role in the Chinese series. Base said, "Someone asked how I got the role in the series. Here it is," then pointed to her father and said, "He met the leading actor and the actor chose me."
Then her father Bas explained, "I have a boxer named Phet Muang Chang who trains at P' Weerasak's camp. I hadn’t been to watch for a while, but one day I was free and decided to watch my trainee practice. When I arrived, there was a foreign film crew practicing boxing. After a while, someone called me, Somrask, saying a Chinese actor wanted to take a photo with me. So I agreed, got off the ring, and took the photo."
"After the photo, he said he really liked the boxer. He is a Chinese lead actor and came with a translator and some Thai people. He told me there’s a Chinese series filming in Thailand. I jokingly asked if they had a leading actress yet. They said no. So I said, ‘My daughter is beautiful (laughs). If you don’t have a leading actress, you can have my daughter.’ I showed him her photos, and the actor agreed."
Base continued, "But I must say, they initially approached another actress. Then the lead actor called the producer to request changing to the person my father recommended." Bas added, "The next morning, I didn’t know anything until he called me and said, ‘Somrask, it’s confirmed. The lead actor wants Base as the leading lady for the series we talked about yesterday.’"
Base said, "Oh, thank you for helping me go international," then respectfully thanked her father. Bas patted her shoulder and stroked her head, saying, "Wow, my goodness, a father’s credit always counts." He added that the actor probably went back and checked with the crew to see if Somrask was exaggerating or if his daughter was truly beautiful. After verifying, the actor insisted, ‘I want to work with this leading lady.’
