She is another well-known figure with a substantial fan following, namely “Grandma Ning Waree Norkaew” the mother of the superstar actress “Chompoo Araya ” who has now become a fan favorite thanks to her lifestyle content and charming presence shared online. Recently, Grandma Ning opened up on a popular program, sharing behind-the-scenes stories about her relationship with her daughter and revealing things many might not know, “Chompoo Araya” once hired a detective because her mother secretly bought a garden, worrying she might be scammed. She also shared an endearing story about when Grandma Ning first started online content and was told to stop by her daughter! She revealed that she teaches her children by example more than words. Grandma Ning said,
Before I could start online, my daughter both stopped and opposed me. At first, I had only seven Facebook friends, kept private. Then I made it public. She checked my phone, came to my house, took my phone to look at it, and was shocked to see I had hundreds of thousands of followers. She said, “No, no,” then called Facebook to check. They told her to delete everything. There were already many clips posted. I asked what to do, so I had to consult Facebook and ask for their help.
Why didn’t you just tell your mother to delete it?
What to delete? I had posted hundreds of clips. How could I go back and delete all? I had posted hundreds before my daughter noticed.
What happened next?
After consulting Facebook, they said only skilled people could handle this, and it would take time and cost money, so just let it be. That’s what my friend said. After that, Chompoo let it go. She watched closely, checking every clip (laughs), seeing what Grandma said or did to make sure nothing wrong was shared.
Additionally, Grandma Ning revealed that Chompoo hired a detective out of concern, fearing her mother might be scammed. Four years ago, Grandma secretly bought the garden where she now lives. When Chompoo found out, she sent a detective to investigate because she worried Grandma might be tricked. Also, she didn’t want Grandma to start something she might quit quickly, but if Grandma liked it, she wanted her to continue.
What did the detective investigate?
They looked into who recommended it and who took her there. Chompoo said her mother couldn’t have gone alone for such a big matter.
Was Grandma concerned?
Probably. After that, Grandma went on herself but found a driver because she couldn’t drive that far. She went around searching for land. Then someone came to suggest places for her to buy.
Why, Grandma?
I didn’t understand either (laughs), but maybe they were just playfully suggesting.
Maybe they thought the land was priced higher than what I found?
Exactly. But it was land I liked because I felt idle for a long time after my husband passed away. I was a bit lost for a while. I went everywhere—cafes, exercising—until bored. So I thought I really wanted to live close to nature.
How do you teach your children?
I never thought I had a particular method. I want my children to be a certain way, so I show them. I can’t teach well; I only finished fourth grade. I don’t have fancy words to instruct. Since I can’t teach by talking, I just show them. If I want them to be good, I am good. If I want them to be hardworking, I work hard. I give my children freedom. When they were 15, I never interfered with their money or touched it. I taught them from childhood to manage finances and expenses. Later, when they had plenty, they gave me money on Mother’s Day, New Year, birthdays. Sometimes they’d bring money in a worn-out bag and just leave it for me.
