Catering fully to fun-seekers! When two energetic young entrepreneurs “Boot Jakpan Lamplern” , and “Hia Noi, the Molam idol” join forces to open “Sanlao Bar” (SANLAO BAR), a lively spot in central Ekkamai ready to offer full-on entertainment with authentic Isan and Molam music alongside genuine Isan cuisine. The goal is to create a fresh, engaging experience for urbanites to closely connect with Isan culture’s charm and to establish a new landmark for Molam lovers in the city center.
“Hia Noi” shared his excitement about opening the bar: “I’m thrilled. We’re fully committed to giving Isan people a place to enjoy Isan music and food. We invested a lot, especially in rent, since it’s downtown. I love this kind of thing but wasn’t sure if others would like it as much. After three days of trial, foreigners really loved it and kept coming back. They enjoyed dancing to Isan songs.”
He also explained why he partnered with Boot, citing admiration for Boot’s unique personality and work style. He believes Molam’s appeal can resonate well with younger generations: “It’s like forming a Molam band. I invested with Boot because I like who he is. We felt his DNA is clear, distinctive, and Molam that fits today’s vibe very well.”
Boot Jakpan said the bar’s highlight is its clear presentation of Isan identity through music and traditional instruments, which Isan people take pride in. He emphasized reasonable pricing to ensure all customers can enjoy the fun: “Come here to have fun and appreciate what Isan people are proud of—the instruments and pure Isan songs. That’s our selling point, and our prices are fair.” Meanwhile, the song “Won Fan Saen Pleum” has been very popular, requested almost every night. When it plays, it draws cheers and livens up the entire bar.
Sanlao Bar focuses mainly on Molam music but also incorporates Luk Thung songs depending on customer preferences. The aim is to create an instant association with Sanlao Bar whenever people want to experience Molam’s atmosphere. Besides music, authentic Isan food is another key attraction, offering customers a complete taste and ambiance of Isan culture.
The clientele includes teenagers, middle-aged people, young office workers, and newcomers eager to explore unfamiliar musical experiences. Many find the atmosphere so enjoyable that they don’t want to leave, demonstrating how Isan music’s charm can create fun and connect people across generations.
Elevating the fun to an international level, Boot Jakpan invites Isan people and everyone from all regions to come experience the charm of Molam music, Isan culture, and full-on fun at “Sanlao Bar” in central Ekkamai. The venue offers a joyful experience through music and dance, allowing everyone to closely enjoy the unique magic of Isan and celebrate together without limits!
