DT Motorsport Accepts R.Y.S.T. Decision, Apologizes to Nong Payus Family, Vows Greater Caution

After the Royal Automobile Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage (R.Y.S.T.), held a press conference regarding the engine issue of the car driven by Nong Payu, the son of the actress Chompoo Araya A. Hargate, and the businessman Nott Wisarut Rangsisingpipat, who violated the regulations, which was reported to the organizers for the race result announcement. They also confirmed that R.Y.S.T. oversees the rules only and has no authority to judge on-track incidents.

They explained that the cylinder sleeve did not comply with the set regulations: "There is a specified spec that can be verified from engine numbers and markings. However, the replaced part did not match the model specified. Since this was a One Make Race, all engines must be identical.

I won’t comment on whether it increased power or not. The key point is that it broke the rules. If we debate power, it will lead to lengthy arguments about why Nong Payu was still in the pack and only overtook on the last lap. I am concerned about the drama this causes. The engine used today did not meet the prescribed regulations."

Recently, DT Motorsport posted a statement accepting the R.Y.S.T. decision, affirming the incident was the team's fault, not Nong Payu's, with the following content:

"DT Motorsport respectfully accepts the decision of the Royal Automobile Association of Thailand under the Royal Patronage (R.Y.S.T.) without dispute and apologizes to all parties for the misinterpretation of the Homologation Form that did not align with the intent of the IAME factory. This mistake is entirely the team's responsibility, not Nong Payu's, who drove the car prepared by the team.

The wording in the factory document caused confusion for the race organizers and the inspection team from IAME, who shared the same understanding as our team. We reaffirm that there was no intention to gain an unfair competitive advantage.

Going forward, the team will exercise greater caution in interpreting the rules by consulting race organizers, rule supervisors, and the manufacturer in writing before taking any action to ensure full understanding of all requirements.

We would like to take this opportunity to apologize to Nong Payu's family and thank them for their support. We also apologize to all fellow competitors and their families, to those who have followed and supported Nong Payu, and to R.Y.S.T., the organizers, officials, and all families in the Cadet B category for any confusion and disruption caused.

Most importantly, we congratulate all racers who succeeded in this competition—those who stood on the podium, the annual champions, and everyone who challenged themselves to participate.

Thank you.
DT Motorsport Team"
