“Baw Wee” Recalls Moment Aunt Was Swept Away by Flash Flood and Disappeared, Reveals Deceased Had a Bad Omen Dream Before Incident

After Baw Wee R Siam announced the sad news of his 60-year-old aunt's death after she went fishing near Phrisawan Waterfall inside the Banthat Wildlife Sanctuary, Prong Chorakhe Subdistrict, Yan Ta Khao District, Trang Province. She was swept away by a strong current while trying to cross a bridge back from fishing. Authorities searched for over six hours before finding her body about 3 kilometers from the incident site. This occurred on 18 Oct 2026 around 14:00 GMT+7.

Recently, Thairath Entertainment contacted Baw Wee to ask about the incident. He shared,

"We are simple folks, and that canal has been a place where my family has played since childhood because it’s near a waterfall. Behind our house is a canal with waterfall water. Yesterday, my relative went fishing, and her daughter drove her up the mountain road. There were two women, both around 60 years old but still strong because they often fish—just local villagers."

"Another relative called her to come ashore because the water was rising, but the deceased aunt was on the other side. She tried to run to the shore, but the flash flood came just then. She couldn’t make it in time; the flash flood swept her away. The aunt who was with her saw it happen right before her eyes but couldn’t help because there were only two of them. This happened in the early afternoon around 2 pm. The flash flood came from far up the mountain as runoff water. It rained that day but not heavily."

"Our family and officials searched together for about six hours before finding her body exactly at 9 pm near a palm garden below the dam, about 3 kilometers from where it happened."

"The aunt who went with her was very shocked because they had just spoken before going fishing. The deceased had said she dreamed the night before that she went fishing and her daughter came to pick her up but didn’t show up to bring her back. She told this while they were fishing together. Another relative said if she had told them this dream before going, they wouldn’t have gone fishing. It was like a bad omen, the family said."

"But what could we do? This is their way of making a living. Whenever my aunt returns, she fishes in that canal. She knows when the water rises or floods and quickly comes ashore. That spot is about 5-6 kilometers from the mountain. We’ve lived here since we were young; this is how local people make a living. So, this is how it had to be. The authorities warned us, but villagers have always managed to survive. Sometimes we don’t know what else to do."

"I want to tell everyone that nature has been like this for a long time, but we must be more cautious than before because it can happen quickly. The media constantly gives warnings, but honestly, local people don’t pay much attention. I’m just being frank, and you can’t blame them. This is their way of life and livelihood."

"I myself was thinking of going home to fish because when the water comes, the fish rise. But just then I heard the news, so I didn’t go."
