On 20 Oct 2026 GMT+7 Morakot Mapobphan aged 71, a merchant, the biological younger sister of Mr. Yothin Mapobphan also known as "Uncle Yothin" a former famous actor, filed a complaint through the media to clarify facts after her brother gave an interview on the program "Open Heart" on Thairath TV Channel 32, stating he had no relatives, no residence, and no food, so he had to work in exchange for meals. This led to Morakot and her siblings being severely criticized and condemned by society.
Morakot revealed that the information her brother provided in the interview was untrue. She and Oranuch Mapobphan aged 66, Yuwadee Mapobphan aged 65, along with another younger brother living in the south, pooled their elderly allowances to cover expenses for their brother in hardship, including rent, food, personal items, water, and electricity. They only requested Uncle Yothin's elderly allowance of 700 baht to contribute towards rent. Any shortfall in expenses was covered by Morakot herself, including medical treatment for his psychiatric condition.
Morakot further stated that before the incident, Uncle Yothin had left home for only two days, saying he would work at Suan Kaew Temple. She gave him 300 baht to take along. Later, police from Bang Yai Station called to inquire, and she confirmed she was his true sister. She expressed confusion over why news circulated claiming her brother had no relatives.
Previously, Uncle Yothin had worked at Suan Kaew Temple once but could not stay and then lived with officials from the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security in Nonthaburi for three days. The officials then called Morakot to pick him up and arranged a rental room for him as usual.
Following the news, Morakot tried repeatedly to contact Director Fa, Dr. Pornthipa Supattanukul, but no one answered. She demanded that Director Fa stop spreading the claim that Uncle Yothin has no relatives, while in reality, the family has continuously provided support. She also sent a message to her brother, saying he is old and should change his old ways and be considerate of the siblings who care for him.
When asked if Uncle Yothin could no longer live at Director Fa's foundation and wanted to return to the family, Morakot replied, "No need to come back. It’s up to him. I believe he doesn't love us; if he did, he wouldn't treat us like this. This is the second time already."
Additionally, local residents confirmed and supported Morakot's explanation, stating they have always seen Morakot and her siblings caring for Uncle Yothin regarding housing and daily life. They were surprised to see news reports claiming Uncle Yothin was abandoned and had no relatives to care for him.
