After Somrak Kamsing was sentenced by the 4th Regional Court of Appeal in Khon Kaen to 1 year and 12 months imprisonment without suspension in the case of abducting a 17-year-old girl, and was ordered to pay damages of 200,000 baht, after which the court allowed bail set at 300,000 baht in cash.
Somrak posted a clip on Facebook thanking the court and officials for sending a lawyer to assist with bail. He added that he had no problems and was confident. After reflection, he felt like a victim but said it was okay and that he would fight again in the Supreme Court, confident he is a good person who will get through this. Recently,
Base Kamsing appeared on the program "Today" and spoke about her father Somrak, saying, “I saw my father this morning; he seemed normal. I don’t know many details because, to be honest, I am responsible for the expenses—lawyer fees, bail fees, witness fees, travel costs. All expenses are covered by me. I only know the amounts but learned the details along with the news. I haven’t asked much because his explanations are in legal terms, so I don’t fully understand the details.”
Regarding my father’s mental state, you can see from his live broadcasts. Does he look stressed? (laughs) I’m not stressed. Honestly, I’m not stressed because we’ve been through a lot before. This isn’t the first time. I believe the public knows about my father’s past news. This is not his first time in court.
I have been with him through huge debts of 30–40 million baht and we got through that. Now this happens again. Have we faced tough times? Yes. If the court finds him guilty and sentences him, we will accept it. If he is wrong, he admits it. Personally, I am already fully supporting him.”
