Horror movie enthusiasts are set to experience the "Taiwan Horror Film Festival 2026," organized by the National Film Associations Federation in collaboration with Taiwan's Monomyth Co., Ltd., which scouts and develops market-potential works for Taiwan's drama and film industry, and Draconic as the Thai co-organizer. The festival aims to offer a horror film viewing experience and build networks with leading Taiwanese companies. It will take place from 20 to 21 October 2026, with the first day held at Bangkok University in Pathum Thani Province and the second day at House Samyan Cinema, 5th floor, Samyan Mitrtown, Bangkok.
Starting on 20 October at Bangkok University, Pathum Thani, three horror films will be screened. One is THE BRIDGE CURSE, directed by Lester Shih, based on a local legend about mysterious stories within a Taiwanese university. It was previously shown in Thailand in 2020 during the global COVID-19 crisis but quickly topped Taiwan's box office and earned over 180 million baht in revenue.
THE TAG-ALONG is a film that achieved notable box office success during its 2015 theatrical release and was selected for screening at the Busan International Fantastic Film Festival. It has sold distribution rights to 19 countries and played a key role in boosting the popularity of Taiwanese horror films on the international stage.
MUDBORN is a film that has recently gained popularity and success in Malaysia, earning over 100 million baht in box office revenue during its Taiwanese release.
On 21 October 2026 at House Samyan, two films will be shown. INCANTATION, directed by Kevin Ko, is a highly successful horror movie and one of Taiwan's highest-grossing in the genre. It received 13 nominations at the Golden Horse Awards and won Best Film Editing and Best Sound Effects.
