Currently considered one of the hottest new artists is Nong Gle, the young daughter of Chompoo Araya A. Hargate, and Nott Visarut Rangsisingpipat. They recently released their first single "Gukgoo," which has received an excellent response with the music video views soaring close to 3 million. Recently, Chompoo and Nong Gle attended the launch of the “A Celebration of Wonders 2027” campaign at Central Court (Glass Elevator) on the 1st floor of CentralWorld, where they were asked about this success.
The release was recent but the views are already very high?
“I have to thank everyone who loves Nong Gle and supports her. I see all of it. I go through and like everyone’s content. Some even boost views while working, opening many phones to help. It’s heartwarming to see her receive so much love.”
Do the kids get teased about being artists now?
“Nobody calls them artists or not. People just tease them. The word ‘artist’ might not be in their dictionary. We don’t say much, just that she’s talented and doing well, with people loving and liking her. We tell her to be kind and sweet to everyone. She enjoys listening to music, and when someone approaches, she acts nicely.”
Will she continue promoting the single?
“When we made the song, I consulted friends who also do music. We agreed that if she had to do a promotional tour, it would be too much. In the end, she won’t be doing shows or live performances anywhere. We don’t intend to push her into that because it would be too much for her and might make it no longer fun. This is just a performance she can do, but we see it as content to make people smile.”
Will there be more singles?
“We’ll see about that later, both her and me. I have many projects. We don’t plan to make it into a full show—just something lighthearted for smiles. If we agreed to do shows, the pressure would be on her to perform perfectly, which would be beyond our intention and might make her lose interest.”
There’s some drama about having a child sing?
“They say art is broad. An artist is someone who creates art. For me, when my child draws something at school, I hang it on the wall—that’s my art. Whether it’s disrespecting art or artists depends on interpretation. For me, art is very broad, even food is art.
If a child is in art class at school, drawing or sculpting, and the teacher says it’s not art or not good enough, I think that’s not constructive for art or art education. It’s all subjective. We just want this to be positive energy. The purpose is to make people smile. It also fulfills the parents’ wish to capture this moment because she will only be this way today; tomorrow she will be different.”
Will the second or third artists be Pee Payu or Pee Saifa?
“They’d have to be hired as well.”
So what is the band’s name?
“We haven’t decided yet. For now, just call it 'Sawet' and go with the flow.”
