Thanya Opens Up: Liya Shares Words That Stunned Pek Sanchai Into Silence

When it comes to the life story of Thanya Thanyares and Pek Sanchai it's safe to say it's incredibly spicy, as their story has consistently drawn public interest from past to present.

Recently, Thanya shared an exclusive story on Mothership Podcast EP.37, candidly admitting that roles at home have started to shift as their beloved daughter, "Liya," grows up and has begun to sharply keep her parents in check. It’s been quite a sting, leaving her father speechless, saying,

"When the children are young, we teach and guide them, but as they grow up, is there a reverse—where they teach and keep the parents in check?"

"Plenty! (laughs) For example, when Pek and I do live streams together, the engagement is great, and people enjoy watching, especially when Pek goes overboard with his vitamin drip jokes. But he often uses rude language, and Liya warns us, asking why we have to speak disrespectfully, especially why mom repeats what dad says. Dad sometimes can’t control himself, but mom can, and Liya doesn’t like it. We accept that she dislikes it, which is fair—we shouldn’t do it. Sometimes we get carried away without thinking, but when Liya reminds us, we take it seriously. Pek tries to tone it down, though sometimes he slips again; it’s hard to control."

There’s also the matter Pek admits about being a womanizer. He thinks men naturally are, but Liya reminds him that womanizing isn’t normal, shouldn’t be accepted, and that men should love their family and only one mother figure—not see it as something good or acceptable."

She’s right. What Pek said in interviews reflects his truth, but from Liya’s perspective, if you’re a wife who’s not okay with it, fights and conflicts can arise. We might have long been used to it, but Liya tells us that mom shouldn’t get used to it; it’s not how it should be."It shouldn’t be accepted or normalized. We apologized to her (laughs).

Each interview makes us think more because when she was little, we hardly had to consider anything—we just spoke the truth as it was. But as she grows and develops her own thoughts, she feels embarrassed by our family issues. She thinks it’s shameful when mom and dad discuss problems publicly and wonders how we can interview so casually about it.

She also wonders if one day she has a boyfriend like dad, would dad be okay with that? (laughs) Dad is left speechless. As she grows and thinks this way, it’s undeniable, and we have to adjust (laughs).

She has strong leadership like her father, who is strict, but Liya is very nice with friends and fans. At home, her leadership is strong like dad’s—she’s orderly and dislikes mess. If the car is messy, she won’t ride in mom’s car anymore (laughs). When traveling, if she sees a messy suitcase, she steps in to organize it.Just like Pek, who organizes bags for himself and the kids, Liya now organizes mom’s bags too, making things easier for mom. Dad used to be a soldier, and she inherited that discipline naturally, which is a positive trait. It’s part of who she is by nature."
