‘Takkatan Cholada’ Expresses Deep Disappointment and Shaken Trust Over Donation Issues

The issue arose when the famous luk thung singer “Takkatan Cholada” posted a lengthy message expressing her heartache regarding donations and charity. She admitted feeling saddened that her trust and faith in someone had been shaken. The deepest pain was not about the money, but the trust she had once placed in that person.

“I still have faith in doing good as before... but I admit that the faith I once had in someone has really been shaken today.” Sometimes the thing that hurts us most isn’t money but the confidence we gave wholeheartedly to someone. I believe many of us who like to make merit, whether through foundations, social workers, or direct aid, hope that help truly reaches those in need. Some donors aren’t wealthy; they may have little left to spare but still want to share with those less fortunate. The money we collectively give carries not only value but also kindness and trust.

I understand that charity workers have families, responsibilities, and deserve fair compensation. Necessary expenses are understandable. What I ask for is moderation, honesty, transparency, accountability, and that funds be used according to donors’ intentions. What pains me deeply is that someone I once trusted, who has long done good and helped society—which I still recognize and value—has raised questions about donation use. I can't help but feel sad.

The good they have done remains good, but if anything was truly wrong, past good deeds alone can’t explain everything. I don’t want to rush to judgment as everything deserves fair investigation. I still believe many good people help society sincerely. This situation also made me reflect that sometimes we worry so much about others’ suffering we neglect our own life and future. From now on, I may have to allocate funds more carefully, build my own security, and choose to help through verifiable channels or by directly aiding those in need.

Having compassion for others should not mean forgetting to have compassion for oneself. I have not lost faith in doing good and do not regret the money I have donated. But today, I feel truly heartbroken and disappointed because what has been shaken is not the amount of money... but the trust I once gave someone wholeheartedly.
