Sharing a morning quote for reflection from Noom Kanchai Kumpanploy, the well-known host and news anchor who recently posted an insightful quote from Buddhadasa Bhikkhu, also known as Phra Dhammakosajarn (Nguam Indapanyo).
On his Facebook fan page, Noom Kanchai posted a photo of himself and wrote an inspiring message: “Do you know that the most dangerous person in this world is not someone who constantly does evil, but rather someone who does good and then uses that goodness to build an additional layer of their identity.”
Buddhadasa Bhikkhu once said, "Humans are not superior to others just because they are more educated, better looking, or have done more good deeds. The moment we pile those good deeds onto our ego or identity, that goodness begins to become a burden."
Buddhadasa warned, "Beware of the ‘self’ hidden behind success. Always remind yourself that we are not as important as we think, the world does not revolve around us, and nothing truly belongs to us. #Buddhadasa" He added humorously in the comments, “Model-building kid.”
Among the comments from friends in the industry and fans were remarks like: Pong Ruea Chang said, “Time to stop;” “The most dangerous point is when we ignore warnings” — very true; “Today’s era isn’t about more evil or less good, but people don’t know what is good or evil;” “You can't hide the sky with your palm. Doing good or bad, others may not know, but we ourselves do, and karma works fast these days;” “Beware when something seems too good, it often hides something.”
