Simultaneously, officers obtained search warrants for four locations in Bangkok and Pathum Thani Province, yielding the following results.
Location 1: Luxury residence in Kaset-Nawamin, Lat Phrao, Bangkok, the home of Ms. Panadda. Authorities seized a luxury Alphard van, valuable jewelry, 32 branded handbags, five firearms, electronic devices, and bank account books.
Location 2: Good Deed Foundation office at Khlong 8, Thanyaburi district, Pathum Thani. Seized items included five foundation vehicles, one personal vehicle, 130 donation receipt books, various documents, silver-like bars, and CCTV hard drives.
Location 3: Residence in Bueng Kasam subdistrict, Nong Suea district, Pathum Thani. Authorities seized land ownership documents and purchase-sale contracts for properties in Krabi and Phuket provinces.
Location 4: Former Good Deed Foundation building on Ram Inthra 23, Bang Khen district, Bangkok. Officers inspected documents and the original site to gather evidence for the case.
The case began when victims and concerned citizens filed complaints with Division 4, Economic Crime Suppression Division, reporting solicitations via social media to donate for flood relief and aid to the poor. Suspicion arose that the donations were not used as intended, prompting police investigation.
Investigations found the suspects exploited their public image and social work by posting on Facebook pages to solicit donations into personal bank accounts alongside the foundation’s accounts, using bank account names that misled donors into believing they were official charity accounts. This resulted in massive donations totaling over 800 million baht—over 600 million baht into personal accounts and more than 200 million baht into the foundation’s accounts.
However, after receiving donations, funds were transferred from donation accounts to personal accounts of the suspects and close associates. Funds were used for personal expenses, including credit card debt, luxury brand purchases, and mutual funds. Transfers were also disguised through contracts for building construction and luxury pool villas in Phuket and Pathum Thani.
Transactions involved transferring donated money to contractors, who then cycled cash and transfers back to the suspects’ accounts. Donated funds were also used to accumulate land holdings across multiple provinces. The foundation never submitted required annual financial statements or balance sheets to the registrar as mandated by law, indicating fraudulent intent to use public donations for personal gain.
During initial questioning at arrest and preliminary investigation stages, the suspects denied all charges. Police will compile evidence, financial transaction documents, and seized items to ensure a fair process. The suspects and seized assets have been handed over to Division 4 for prosecution. Coordination with the Anti-Money Laundering Office and the Ministry of Interior will continue for further foundation operational review.
The Central Investigation Bureau warns the public to verify the transparency of charitable organizations before donating. Donated funds should be sent to legally registered foundation or association accounts, not personal accounts. Donors should monitor published financial reports and confirm funds are used according to stated purposes. Any suspicious or fraudulent fundraising activities exploiting public hardship for personal benefit should be reported to the Central Investigation Bureau or the hotline 1195.
