Peggy Srithanya Files Complaint Against Boom Panadda Over 200,000 Baht Donation Heartbroken and Pauses Charity Work

Regarding the controversy over donation funds to the Good Deeds Foundation which Boom Panadda Wongpudi presides over as foundation chairperson, and police have found that the foundation’s financial transactions include transfers to accounts belonging to Boom and Got Atip Anantawan her husband, used for personal benefit, violating the donation’s intended purpose, becoming a major case under scrutiny

Most recently, Peggy Srithanya a well-known singer and presenter, together with lawyer Kaew Dr. Monthachai Jongkairattanakul, visited the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) to file a complaint against Boom Panadda concerning donations to the Good Deeds Foundation after having donated over 205,555 baht.

What brought you here today and what’s the purpose?

Peggy: I came to file a complaint regarding donations I made to the Good Deeds Foundation.

How much did you donate, when, and for what purpose?

Peggy: I donated three times. To begin with, I should explain that once my dancer was assaulted. Actually, I encountered issues since I entered the industry, but there was a period when my dancer was harmed, and I didn’t know whom to consult. So, I called Boom and asked her to help remove that man from the dancer’s home because the dancer was assaulted and there were also cases of animal abuse. Boom helped me. Since then, I felt deeply grateful because she was someone who genuinely took action and provided real help.

From that point on, Peggy said she felt that if she were to donate to any foundation, it would be Boom’s. Honestly, Peggy had never donated to any organization before despite many requests, but she survived without issues. She thought that as a celebrity, if she were to choose an organization to donate to, Boom Panadda’s foundation was suitable because Boom was also a celebrity and a credible person she believed in.

So, she started donating from the time Boom helped with her dancer’s situation.

The first donation was around 55,555 baht in 2023. Peggy expressed thanks to Boom’s Good Deeds Foundation, writing, “Supporting the organization’s social help work; may merit be accrued.” At that time, there were no major disasters, but she saw the foundation doing good, helping women and children.

The second donation in 2024 was 50,000 baht for flood relief in the northern region. The third donation in 2025 was 100,000 baht for the border area.

For the latest Bangkok flood, she intended to donate another 100,000 baht but seeing many foundations, she instead donated to The Voice Foundation to help dogs.

When you donated, did you ask where the money would be used or just let them handle it?

Peggy: I never asked because I trusted Boom completely and believed she truly did the work. I never even asked for tax receipts or for deductions; I gave the money fully and sincerely.

What made you decide to file the complaint today? What did you see or decide?

Peggy: I want to know what happened to the money I donated, to possibly investigate where Boom used the funds at that time.

At first, when the news broke that Boom’s husband had encroached on forest land for trail running, I felt sorry for Boom, thinking she had a bad partner and would suffer. After Boom’s press conference admitting infidelity, it reflected my own experience and I sympathized deeply. I defended her publicly from day one, sending encouragement and messages like, “Boom, take it step by step; it will get through.”

On the second day, as evidence emerged, I still believed Boom wouldn’t do such things because she carries herself with dignity and grace in society. She wouldn’t sacrifice her image and elegance for money to build a pool villa. I even told myself the 50 million baht wasn’t worth it; if it were me, I wouldn’t take it.

As news unfolded over two or three more days, my heart gradually broke, doubting if it was true. By the time police issued an arrest warrant, I could only say it was beyond shocking, utterly terrible.

Today, I can say my heart is broken and my faith shattered. I believe many supporters, even those who donate small amounts like 9, 10, or 19 baht, gave their money to the Good Deeds Foundation, sacrificing what little they had.

This morning, while doing makeup and hair at home live on social media, a viewer messaged saying, “Sister Peggy, my bedridden husband donated his welfare money to Boom Panadda’s foundation because he trusts you. We followed your example.” That made me feel awful, really terrible.

Do you still have any positive feelings now?

Peggy: It’s hard to say. It feels like my heart is shattered. I don’t know what to feel about her anymore. There is sadness, heartbreak, disappointment, and loss of faith in many things.

Currently, clips of the Talk Show episode where I interviewed Boom are widely reposted. At that time, Boom told me I was her initial supporter and one of the first donors to the Good Deeds Foundation, inspiring many celebrities and even Thai people abroad to donate. I was happy and felt fulfilled then, but now I feel no joy from charity and feel very guilty.

Some think your complaint is a way to cover up past donations or involvement with Boom. What is the truth?

Peggy: I never asked Boom to participate in any activities with me because I’m not an activist and never do such activities. But I did share her posts on my page because I supported and believed in her. Apart from once asking for help with my dancer, I never involved her in anything else. I have nothing to cover up.

Some say sharing posts is seen as promoting the foundation?

Peggy: Yes, as I said, it was out of faith and trust. I’m confident I wasn’t alone in supporting her. Many believed in her, which is why many of us feel so broken now.

Do people think you filed the complaint to avoid police action later?

Peggy: Police action is another matter. I’m not worried because I did nothing wrong.

Do you confirm your intentions?

Peggy: Yes, I confirm with a pure heart. Every baht I donated to Boom Panadda and the Good Deeds Foundation was honestly earned.

Have you heard the latest police statement about personal money used to buy life insurance and bags?

Peggy: Yes, I heard. Everyone was stunned—viewers, committee members, all shocked, including me. Boom denies all charges yet admits everything, which shocked me. I have nothing to say or ask Boom now because I fear the answers, unsure if they’re true or false. The media reports contradict the facts greatly.

What do you think caused such a drastic change in her?

Peggy: I don’t know. According to the evidence and timeline, it goes back years. I can’t tell if she changed or was like this all along.

Could sharing posts be a legal problem?

Lawyer Kaew: At the time Peggy shared, the facts weren’t known. She confirmed to me and our team that she received no benefits. She was simply a good citizen promoting the foundation. Whether this implicates Peggy depends on the investigators’ view if she benefited financially. We will wait for their decision. Today, Peggy files this complaint as a victim who donated.

Are you worried now that sharing posts might implicate you?

Peggy: At that time, I shared sincerely. If anything happens in the future, I’ll accept the justice process.

When you sought help for your dancer, was money or anything exchanged?

Peggy: No, never. I didn’t expect money or anything. There was no deal or exchange with Boom. Nothing at all. That’s why I thought it was pure goodness.

Since then, I felt that if I were to donate to any organization, it must be one that truly does good. Besides regularly donating to Srithanya Hospital, I donated to Boom’s Good Deeds Foundation. For other causes, I help children from shows I commentate on, but mainly I only gave to Boom’s foundation.

Are you involved in Boom’s or the foundation’s financial matters?

Peggy: No, not at all.

Going forward, how concerned are you about donating to other foundations?

Peggy: I think I have to pause donating. I can’t tell which are truly good or not. I feel reluctant to give now. I need to rest and see when my heart recovers, but for now, I’m pausing.

What outcome do you want from this complaint?

Peggy: I want to know where the money goes if only 2% of the donations help people and what happens to the rest. I want to find out. The donations were made sincerely, not to get the money back, though that would be nice. I never intended to build a pool villa or anything. (Do you regret donating?) No, I don’t regret it.

So, how much did you donate in total?

Peggy: 205,555 baht in three installments.
