Launch Ceremony of the Multiverse Series Bupphesanniwat Featuring August and Leng as Protagonists of the New Universe

A social media sensation erupted immediately as fans eagerly speculated about the identities behind the shadowy figures cast as Father Ded and his romantic partner. News that the novel "Bupphesanniwat" would be remade in a new Boys' Love universe thrilled fans across Thailand and several countries, trending across multiple Southeast Asian nations. Recently, Century UU Entertainment (Thailand) Co., Ltd., led by producer Boom Phlatphol Mingpornphichit, held a launch ceremony for the multiverse series "Bupphesanniwat," based on Rompaeng's novel. The series remains a ROMANTIC COMEDY but in a MODERN PERIOD style, introducing two leading actors: August Vachirawich Paisarnkulwong as "Father Ded" and Leng Thanapon Usinsap as "Father Kaeo" (originally Mae Karaked), marking the inaugural chapter of this new "Bupphesanniwat" universe. The announcement caused a social media buzz with the hashtag #AugustLeng trending instantly. The event was also attended by LI ZHAOXING, General Manager for Overseas Century UU, and Paransiri Kir, Chief Business Development Officer of Century UU Thailand.

"Bupphesanniwat Destiny Love" in this universe is directed by the renowned Pawat Panangsiri, who previously directed the drama "Mai." The script is written by Toto Natthaphat Phanperm Siri (pen name Panthi), told through a MODERN PERIOD narrative. The production spares no effort or budget to deliver stunning visuals worthy of fans’ expectations.

The launch event took place at the pier of Wat Pho, featuring the historic prang of Wat Arun—built since the Ayutthaya period—as a backdrop. The cast appeared fully styled in costumes and makeup as if stepping out of the series itself to join the ceremony. Besides August as Father Ded and Leng as Father Kaeo (originally Mae Karaked), who thrilled fans with their appearances, the event showcased a star-studded supporting cast with surprising roles: Na Napath Vikairungroj as Father Ruang paired with Win Thanapon Ukvongseree as Father Wad; Thanyathan Vivatnadecha as Ai Phin and Fay Chintap Duangkaew as Ai Yam; Jaturong Mokjok as Okya Horathibodi and Chef Pom Mom Luang Khwanthip Thewakul as Mae Nang Jampa; Anna Suengamiam as Marie Thongkimar; and Thisa Warittisa Limthammasit making her first Channel 3 series appearance as Thao Sri Chulalak. The cast lineup is impressively packed.

Producer Boom Phlatphol Mingpornphichit shared the reasons for creating this series and what makes this universe special.

"On behalf of Century UU Thailand, I thank the media and fans for the warm reception of the 'Bupphesanniwat' series. We appreciate Rompaeng, the original author, for trusting us; director Pawat for embracing this challenge; and all the actors who honored us by joining this project. In this world, no matter what we do, comparisons are inevitable—that's natural—so we are grateful for every comment and critique. The positive response has truly uplifted us and motivates us to strive even harder. The unique aspect of this 'Bupphesanniwat' universe is the 'What If' scenario: What if Father Ded in this universe falls in love with another man?

Beyond labels like BoyGirl, Boys' Love, or Girls' Love, I see this 'Bupphesanniwat' universe as a story about the characters’ love. If Captain America were to fall in love with a man, it wouldn't suddenly stop being an Action-Fantasy; similarly, this 'Bupphesanniwat' universe retains the fun and value of a Period drama but in a Modern Period style. Many may recall the previous universe featured 'Kes Surangk,' but in this one, 'Kes' becomes 'Great,' and 'Mae Karaked' transforms into 'Father Kaeo.' It is a Romantic Comedy series in Modern Period style with lively pacing and storytelling more like a series than a traditional drama.

Get ready to watch and find out... what happens if Father Ded falls in love with another man? The multiverse series "Bupphesanniwat" featuring the new universe of Father Ded and Father Kaeo will air in 10 episodes starting July 2026 on Thailand’s Channel 3, with online viewing also available.
