Synopsis of Black Coral

Narathorn (Fair Kantadney), a marine biology expert, is conducting research on creating artificial coral reefs to restore and conserve Thailand's underwater ecosystems. He discovers a thriving coral reef near Skull Island but it is dangerous to access due to whirlpools preventing exploration.

Despite this, Narathorn persists, photographing coral species for research with Prachya (George Thapanat), a university photography professor. This leads him to meet Kaemuk (Namwan Raknapak), a skilled diving and underwater photography student. Kaemuk's successful underwater thesis photos were bought by Phum (Oo Thanakorn), a powerful businessman and Narathorn's father.

Narathorn distrusts Phum, suspecting his philandering behavior and questionable motive behind suddenly buying all these photos. He suspects Phum and Sairung (Ae Maneerat) are plotting land deals involving small islands in the sea, especially when Phum sends agents to negotiate land purchase on Kala Island from Mek (Kob Songsit) and Mai (Kwanrudee Klomklom), Kaemuk's parents who are collaborating with Narathorn on research.

While Narathorn's work with Kaemuk continues, a group secretly blasts coral reefs hoping to find rumored treasure hidden in underwater caves near Skull Island. This is not the first time treasure hunting occurs in this area.

Previously, skilled divers tried to penetrate the coral barrier to Skull Island but mostly vanished. Survivors include Pong (Tee Wivit), now running a boat and diving equipment rental at the pier, and Sompong (Mek Winai), who behaves erratically, repeatedly speaking in riddles as if haunted by some mysterious, terrifying experience at that place.

However, no one knows that the coral blasting releases the spirit of a young woman named Sarai (Amy Morakot), trapped within the black coral after being mysteriously murdered years ago. Sarai was a fisherman's daughter living by the sea with her father and distant relative Sairung. Sairung invited Sarai to work as her housekeeper, so Sarai moved to Bangkok hoping to continue her studies.

Sarai lived in Phum's house and met Narathorn. Since they were close in age and Narathorn was kind-hearted, Sarai secretly fell for him but never expressed it. When Narathorn went abroad for studies, they lost contact.

Later, Sarai secretly became Phum's other wife. Sairung then expelled Sarai from the house. One day, Sarai mysteriously disappeared and was murdered. After the coral blasting, Sarai's trapped spirit was freed from the deep sea. She followed Kaemuk and tried to communicate but failed.

Sarai pursued Kaemuk until meeting Narathorn, repeatedly attempting communication which caused strange occurrences around them, especially affecting Dara (Jackie Shakeline), a beautiful woman desired by Mana (Tor Jakraphan), Kaemuk's brother who is interning and attracted to Narathorn. Dara often sees ghosts but no one believes her.

One day, Phum accidentally rescues an unconscious woman on the beach and takes her to the hospital. She wakes with amnesia. Phum cares for her, finds her lodging and work, naming her Pakarang (Rida Farida). Secrets, curses, and a murder mystery begin to unfold in "Black Coral."
