The wait is over. It's time for the secret assassin shop to reopen! Join us as the door opens to a new battle in ‘A Shop For Killers’ Season 2. This season takes viewers back into the world of the secret weapon shop with higher stakes. The first two episodes, with Thai dubbing, are now streaming on Disney+.
After surviving the hunt by assassins and uncovering the truth behind Murthehelp, the secret store hiding an arsenal for killers worldwide, finally, ‘Jung Ji An’ (Kim Hye Joon) must fully take over managing this weapon arsenal shop in place of her uncle, ‘Jung Jin Man’ (Lee Dong Wook) who everyone believed to be dead. However, Jin Man’s return from death triggers the ruthless assassin organization BABYLON to launch a major revenge campaign, mobilizing elite foreign assassins to the battlefield. Both uncle and nephew must join forces to take the offensive and stop this threat before it’s too late.
Lee Dong Wook returns as Jung Jin Man, a former mercenary and founder of the advanced weapon shop Murthehelp. This season, Jin Man comes back to unravel the mystery of his disappearance in the previous season. Meanwhile, Kim Hye Joon reprises her role as Jung Ji An, the niece who survived the assassin chase and is growing into a stronger fighter. Lee Dong Wook shared that
“From reading the script, I could tell the emotional depth of Jin Man and Ji An is much more complex this season. At the same time, the action scenes are grander, and the villains’ roles are more intriguing. These elements make me excited to work with the new villains.” He added that one of his most memorable moments was filming large-scale action scenes created practically without CGI, resulting in more spectacular production than before.
Kim Hye Joon revealed her first impression of season 2’s script was seeing Ji An break out of her old mold. “Throughout season 1, I felt Ji An grew a lot, so I’m really excited to see her surpass her limits and become even stronger.” This season, she and director Lee Kwon aim to show Ji An’s evolution from a gentle, fragile person to revealing her hidden assassin instincts. She also shared her favorite scene was when Jin Man witnesses Ji An’s growth. After filming, Lee Dong Wook told her he was proud of her development as an actress, just as Jin Man sees Ji An’s growth in the series. This made the scene a beautiful moment where the characters’ and actors’ emotions perfectly aligned.
A key highlight of this season is the introduction of new assassins from the enemy organization BABYLON. Leading them is Hyunri as Q, the cold-headed team leader, who said she wanted to portray Q as “a multi-dimensional woman, a character difficult to predict,” rather than a typical cold-blooded killer. To bring authenticity to this strong and formidable leader role, Hyunri gained over 5 kilograms of muscle. Meanwhile, Masaki Okada, playing J, a charismatic Japanese assassin, said one of the most impressive aspects during filming was the grand scale of production. “Every scene in this season was larger than any project I’ve done in my acting career. The detail in each set was so meticulous that I was amazed each time I entered the studio.” He also described the series’ long-take action scenes as one of the most memorable filming experiences of his life.
