Fill The Beat: Different Generations, One Rhythm Reinforces Success, Revives the Charm of Suntharaporn Songs Connecting All Generations

The series "Fill The Beat: Different Generations, One Rhythm" demonstrates that "age differences" do not have to become gaps. This feel-good series takes the familiar theme of the Generation Gap and presents it through stories of family, relationships, and timeless songs from "Suntharaporn," becoming a work that not only entertains but also encourages different generations to spend time together, bringing these memorable songs back to life in the hearts of younger audiences.

Recently, the Thai Media Fund collaborated with Cougar Company Limited to organize the PRESS & THANKS event "Fill The Beat: Different Generations, One Rhythm" under the concept "FROM GEN GAP TO GEN GROOVE." The event thanked all supporters and discussed the series’ success and its core idea of transforming the "generation gap" into a "rhythm" that all generations can understand and move forward with together.

The event was filled with a warm and lively atmosphere featuring representatives from various generations, including Taem Charat Fuangarm, Took Wiyada Komarakul Na Nakorn, Giant Chernyim, Po Yokee Playboy, Tor Attakorn Sonyot, Potter Phubet Pratumrat, Tontoy Jidapha Pholrojpanya, and Guitar Sarin Tangcharoenpaisan. Project Director Kay Sangrawee Jongsirikul and Co-Producer At Asda Panichkul, who also starred in the series, shared both on-screen and behind-the-scenes experiences of working across generations.

Additionally, the event was honored by the presence of renowned artist Macha Wattanapanich, adding vibrancy and completing the connection across all generations.

A key element of "Fill The Beat: Different Generations, One Rhythm" is its use of "Suntharaporn songs," a musical heritage deeply rooted in Thai society, as a bridge connecting the memories of older generations with the world of younger ones. These songs are not merely used to create a nostalgic atmosphere but are seamlessly integrated into the story, relationships, and emotions of the characters.

Songs once familiar to grandparents and parents become music that younger generations listen to, know, and share conversations about again. This aligns with the series’ intention to entertain so that "children enjoy it, adults smile and reminisce," creating moments where different generations can sit in front of the same screen and share the same feelings once more.

Another important aspect of the event was providing a platform for artists and actors from each generation to exchange views on the Generation Gap, covering language, lifestyle, technology, as well as mindset and living approaches. This showed that although each generation grows up in different contexts, open listening can turn differences into opportunities for learning and foster mutual understanding.

A highlight that brought smiles and liveliness to the event was the reinterpretation of the legendary song "Ramwong Loy Krathong" as "Loy Let It Flow," blending the traditional Ramwong dance style with contemporary music beats. This allowed all generations to sing, dance, and enjoy together, inviting actors, media, and fans to join in the dance on stage, concretely transforming the "Gen Gap" into "Gen Groove."

At the same time, the event welcomed Pramot Boonnamsuk, Deputy Manager of the Thai Media Fund, and Pranisa Tiawpipitporn, Director of the Creative Culture Promotion Division at the Department of Cultural Promotion, Ministry of Culture, who reflected on the importance of supporting creative works that leverage cultural capital and communicate effectively with contemporary audiences.

The success of "Fill The Beat: Different Generations, One Rhythm" also stems from the collaboration among creators, directors, actors, crew, as well as owners and heirs of legendary Suntharaporn musicians, along with partners and all sectors sharing the common goal that this series should be more than entertainment; it should be a small space for family members to reconnect, listen, and understand each other better.

Ultimately, whether Baby Boomer, Gen X, Gen Y, or Gen Z, everyone may have their own "rhythm," but that does not mean they cannot harmonize. Different generations, not different hearts—when music helps fill love and bridge the age gap.
